Father of the bride here.Go to Kinloch Anderson, they said.They're great, they said.Well, as much as the quality/history is indeed most excellent, the organisation is most definitely not. Our daughter's wedding was on a Friday. The groom and bride visited to pick up the hires on the Thursday. Just as well they thought to check them all - best man, 2 groomsmen, and the remainder of the groom's outfit (some of it was already bought from KA) It was, I'm sorry to say, not very impressive at all. Sizes lost, some of the orders lost, no socks in any of the packets, no shoes in one, one had no flashes, one jacket that was meant to be extra-long was most certainly not, and the groom's outfit wasn't there at all...! Nothing...! Not even a mention of it. Just as well they checked it. Even when they got them home and we had a dress rehearsal, there was still one pair of socks missing, and a jacket was way too short, despite being measured. When we returned again the following day, the member of staff who took our initial order went to get all the extra long jackets from the store - however, they were all in covers that said Long, not Extra-long. She apologised for the extreme inconvenience and we really appreciated this. However, surely one is entitled to expect the highest of service from such an establishment like this.No? Yes? I was so shocked.But not as shocked as one of my colleagues who is an elite member of the Company of Royal Archers - who, I believe, you have the privilege of dressing. My only hope is that His Majesty the King and his Company of Archers experience somewhat better organisation than we did.This said, once it was sorted, the men looked and felt great - as it should have been from the Thursday afternoon. I wonder what would have happened had we picked up the outfits and headed out of town to a wedding outwith Edinburgh? Nipped in to get a wedding present and the staff were friendly and helpful. Had a walk around and there is a great selection of items for hire and purchase, would recommend, although pits tislly a bit pricey, with them being the Royal outfitter though I guess you get what you pay for l!

Absolutely fantastic service from Jason Landon and staff. We took 2 of my late father in laws kilts to be adjusted for a family wedding. They were cleaned and altered and look fabulous. Jason was brilliant and so helpful, nothing was any trouble. I'd highly recommend anyone to go to this company. Thank you so much.

Put my kilt and jacket in for a dry clean, they lost my jacket! Blamed a third party dry cleaner, pretty poor service and accountability throughout. Gave two stars because they let me keep the replacement jacket they provided for the event. Avoiding in future.

I ordered a pair of fishtail back tartan trousers and the velvet trouser jacket, for my wedding. My son also ordered the same trousers separately. The service from Kinloch was fantastic from the start. Any questions or concerns my son and I had were answered and actioned promptly by polite and professional staff.Having recieved the order and worn the items at my wedding, I can only very strongly recommend and thank Kinloch.

My mum ordered a pair of fishtail back trousers as a 21st birthday present, i submitted my measurements (and measured myself wrong), very promptly got a phone call from the tailors shop asking for new measurements. I then forgot to send them for around 4 months until i rang up and asked, i then sent the correct measurements which they then rushed through for me and they came a month before I was told to expect them. I was very impressed, and when they came, they fitted perfectly and the quality was incredible. Could not have been happier!

Fantastic collection and shop. Staff have been very welcoming and helpful. Perfect place if you want to bring home something authentic from Scotland.

Very helpful and diligent staff. I went for the reasonably priced 4 day kilt hire service, went up for measurements and everything fitted perfectly according to recommendation. I was shown how to wear it as I'd not worn one in a while, the outfit was very comfortable for the occasion.Couldn't recommend KA more.

Ordered a women’s long kilt in August as I was checking the status of order I always received a courteous response and update. They suggested I went in when it was ready which I did. The lady that dealt with me with was a delight. She was attentive and offered some great for ideas on a jacket to go with my skirt as it was for our wedding. On her suggestion I went into Edinburgh and bought a jacket from Walker Slater which was perfect. Thank you, amazing skirt and fabulous service.

Made to measure trousers at £370. I’ve asked for the address of the circus that must have been passing through so I can send them to him! Poor fit. Poor quality. Sent back for alterations but I could have bought better off the peg and told them to donate to the local charity shop as I don’t want them back. Use Mc Calls. Far better in my experience.
