Recently I withdrew a sum of cash, It was not a huge amount and I provided multiple sources of identification.Shockingly I was then interrogated by the staff member who basically demanded the reason for the cash withdrawal.At this point I declined to reveal why I wished to withdraw my OWN MONEY and insisted that I received MY HARD EARNED CASH.The money was eventually handed over but not willingly.I know other people who have also experienced this and despite the rhetoric they spin you about security, it's blindingly obvious that the banks are in severe trouble and do not want people withdrawing all their money and are terrified of a banking run.Banks are now basically threatening to withhold your money if you can't meet their ridiculous rules and do not want you to have your own CASH.I and many of my colleagues will now only leave small amounts of capital in the banking sector and will invest in safer places where I can withdraw, when I want and without being interrogated.This one star review that is not based upon the staff,the staff have obviously been strong armed to repeat the banking narrative.

Used the nationwide cash point in SEDGLEY to withdraw money, after inputting my details and the amount I wished to take out it spat my card out and said it couldn’t complete, as I walked away I checked my banking app for it to tell me the money had successfully withdrew. I went into the branch and was greeted so pleasantly and I explained what had happened with their machine outside, when I told them I bank with Barclays their tune changed completely and the lady became rude and tried to pass it off and said that I needed to speak to Barclays as it’s their issue- no it is a nationwide cash point so the issue is YOURS! I called Barclays and they issued the money back to me immediately no hesitation. This is why I bank with Barclays and not you Nationwide as your staff are rude, incompetent and more concerned with rushing off onto their dinner break (as this certain individual did!) Just would like to add further by saying multiple people after me using the machine had the same issue with that cash point and luckily I am in a position where I am not without money however those who had withdrew all they had in their accounts were left without until rectified which is just not acceptable in a cost of living crisis. Shame on you Nationwide, sort your staff attitude out and your ATM machines.
