Jays Driving School

I had my driving test scheduled for 21 November at Kingswood, and the journey to finding an instructor had been quite a challenge. From October onwards, I reached out to numerous instructors without success. Fortunately, Jay was the one who stepped up and agreed to provide me with lessons.Getting Jay on board on first week of November was a stroke of luck, considering the limited time available before my test, also his existing commitments to other students. Despite these challenges, Jay helped me to prepare for test. His teaching approach focused on specifics, providing me with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the test successfully.I appreciate Jay's dedication and the personalized attention he gave me during those crucial days leading up to the test. Thanks to his guidance, I managed to pass with just one minor!.Thank you, Jay, for your exceptional instruction and unwavering support. Jason is a great driving instructor. His lessons are in depth and rigorous. I could not of passed without him. Could not think of a better driving instructor to choose. Today I passed with 3 minors and it’s down to Jason’s excellent training and lessons. Would recommend to anyone.

I have had a terrible experience with Jay. I paid in Advance for the lessons and booked a practical test after Jay told me I was ready. After I booked the test and while I was on vacation 2 weeks before the test, I got a message from Jay asking me to reschedule the test. The reason he gave is that there is a new legislation and he wanted me to reschedule. He did not specify which new legislation required me to reschedule the test. I was not able to reschedule at last minute and lost my test fee.Jay also lied about having a Tom Tom twice and the third time he said that he needs to buy a new Tom Tom so we need to use his phone say nav. When I confronted him about the unprofessional behaviour, he walked off, I lost money for my last class too as he did not refund.Jay’s attitude is racist, misleading and condescending. I would never recommend his classes to anyone. Better to pay someone else who is genuinely interested in you passing and not just making extra money off you.

I passed my test today first time with just 2 minors, and all thanks to Jay! Having had lots of trouble with finding instructors and then getting a test booked in, Jay was supportive and understanding from the start. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor and would recommend to anyone, whether experienced or a complete beginner.Jay has a very calm and competent approach to teaching, focusing on guiding me through faults we found in my driving, all while creating a safe space to learn and enjoy the experience of driving! He’s also got great chat and can take a joke - always appreciated when needing to take the edge off with nerves in tricky situations :)Has been the most positive experience. Highly recommend!

Jay was an amazing instructor. He was patient, calm, and reliable at all times. He's able to find different ways to make you understand the unpredictable road conditions. Each lesson was well thought out and extremely productive. Whether it's a lesson learning control, maneuvers, or mock tests, I've come out learning something new every time. Not to mention the support outside of the lesson that's given, Jay sent me links to videos to complement each lesson that I've had, which was extremely useful because I didn't have a family/friends car to practice in, so I could consolidate my knowledge by watching those videos. He is quick to respond to messages, whether it's booking lessons or asking about videos or driving information.He was able to adjust to how confident I felt on the day to change the way he teaches so I would build up confidence while stepping out of my comfort zone. Whenever I was confused or unsure about something he would take time to listen and understand what is going on before telling me exactly what to correct. I especially applaud his mock test style, where he identifies all your weaknesses and allows you to work on them in later lessons prior to a test, giving a huge confidence boost.I managed to pass my test first try all thanks to Jay, all those rigorous mock tests really made the actual practical test seem like a short drive. I was able to focus on managing my nerves all thanks to the mock tests, since it felt like I was just on another one during my practical test. He gives you recommendations for what would work best, but allows you to discover what works best for you.Jay's knowledge of driving, attitude to teaching, and knowledge of vehicles is second to none. I've learnt more than just driving to pass a test from his lessons, he even taught me things to look out for when buying your first vehicle. I really enjoyed our lessons and our conversations, which actually allowed me to talk to people while driving, making me more confident on the road.I highly recommend him to everyone who is looking to learn to drive!

Excellent driving instructor!!!! Jay is very polite, patient and provides the right guidance by understanding the weaknesses of learner.An amazing person too who builds up the confidence and skills. I enjoyed every session with him ☺️. Jay is incredibly talented, encouraging, helpful and I couldn't have done it without him! Man, what can I say but thank you Jay for everything you've done for me. I was incredibly anxious when I started driving but Jay was an amazing teacher and helped me with my nerves. He created a cool, calm, and safe environment for me and because of that, I was able to excel in my driving. He is very clear with his instructions and is fantastic at giving out tips.Today was my driving test and I passed with 4 minors. I was only able to pass because of how great of a teacher Jay has been to me. I'm truly grateful for everything you have done for me, Jay. Not only have I passed my test and I can drive but I've gained a great friend In all of this.

I passed first time with two minors, having gone with two other instructors beforehand. Jay is an outstanding instructor, flexible and friendly, with a discerning eye, a zen-like demeanour, and has the rare ability to simplify what seems complex into practical common sense. He also has an impeccable taste in music.

Had a great experience learning to drive with Jay, very professional and effective while teaching me how to drive. With his help I managed to past first try! Definitely would not have been able to do it without him!
