St John Fisher R C Church

A beautiful place. Born and baptised in this church, and the church gives a real sense of family and community. Pretty impressive choir too, even if I do say so myself...

Really love this place. It is so welcoming and friendly. The priest Fr Shrinu is amazing. Lovely place to worship and gather with friends.

A wonderful, family friendly, welcoming parish. FatherSrinu is fantastic at making the children feel apart of the parish family and my children love attending mass here.All services are reverent, joyful and the church is a peaceful place to pray.

I have been a coming to church at St John Fisher church for a very long time and it is as good now as I can ever remember it to have been. There is a lovely family atmosphere, there is great integration with the schools , there is an effective amount of charitable work via the SVP food bank and the sense of community is growing. Fr. Srinu is doing a great job offering family masses ,charismatic masses and joint masses with the schools as well as our regular high quality Sunday mass.There is a good childrens liturgy group , good catechists for the various preparation groups, a craft group and outreach to the housebound . All in all it is a nice place to be.

A truly incredible parish that is like an extended family. As someone who went there as a child and was taught at St John Fisher School, it has been wonderful to return to the parish and be welcomed as though I had never been away. Fr Srinu is a fantastic priest who makes weekly mass inspirational and always with a touch of humour. Coming to mass each week at St John Fisher feels like being at home and I always come away feeling calm, refreshed and ready for the week ahead. The parish have such an active involvement in the local community and ensue the individual parishioners, beit old or young, are taken care of. I couldn’t be more proud to be a parishioner.

Married at this church on 13th June 1992 to my lovely wife Teresa Fahy at the time.Father Barlow was the priest back then and he was magnificent not only on the day but the lead up to it.He was a wonderful person very reassuring and calming.A superb day was had by all and onto a lovely reception at the Manor Hotel in Meridian staying overnight and then me and mrs shaw were off to Cyprus the following morning for two weeks.Thirty years on we are still very happily married and with our grown up son Joseph who is 27 and a fine young man.We still go to mass at this church and live only five minutes away.So to summarise very happy memories of a wonderful wedding day in this church so it always will have a special place in my heart.

Wonderful sermon choir was brilliant very good indeed

After many years I returned to St John Fisher Church last Christmas, Wow have I loved the past 10 months. Remembrance Sunday was an amazing experience at SJF, and in many ways illustrated what is magical about this community. You are guaranteed a warm welcome not only at the door but throughout the church and in the parish hall afterwards. The Poppy display was breathtaking, Father Srinu was, as always, captivating, his Homily’s are inspiring and followed by a short period of meditation, cement his words of wisdom. To say the Choir is uplifting is an understatement, even I am moved to sing. Then we see Father ‘high five’ the children as he walks back down the aisle, but it’s the look on peoples faces that tells you have experienced something magical. This Church community truly embraces all ages, rekindles your faith, such that we are invigorated to meet the challenges of the week ahead.
