Eglwys y Grog (Holy Cross Church)
Such a beautiful little Chapel. A proper gem, and good to read the history of the Flemish invasion, which was new to me. Thank you

A beautiful little grade 1 listed, 13th century church situated on the clifftop of Mwnt Bay, the Church of the Holy Cross or Eglwys y Grog remauns simple and unspoiled. Still open to the public with services at Easter and Christmas and at other times by arrangement. If you visit Mwnt, you must visit the church too.

My wife has loved this church since she was a girl. She had often spoke. About it and got so excited when it was glimpsed in tv and referred to it as her church. So we’re on a holiday to Wales and this was one of the top spots on her list of places to visit. The church is pretty isolated and this adds to its natural beauty. We parked up and walked over to it. The door has a note on it saying that it is open but please close the door.So we went in. And peace settled. We could hardly hear the wind or the sea.I’m not religious but there was something about the simplicity of the church that said more to me about faith than the opulence of somewhere like St. David’s, which we went to a couple of days before. The church has stood for several hundred years and will easily outlast me.Go see it if you’re in the area, or if you’re not. Bung them a couple of quid then go to the beach or climb the hill or do both. Just relax and enjoy the world for its simplicity. There’s a graveyard there to remind you why you should.

Beautiful little church. Mwnt is a lovely place but the beach isn’t dog friendly. Some lovely walks and a nice little cafe that makes lovely toasties. Parking is free if you’re a member of the National Trust.

The 14th century church, formerly a chapel for sailors, is truly a symbol of this part of the coast. Walls remembering distant times and events and this scenery of eternal green around, the sound of the waves, the sound of the wind and the silence of the graves ... and the rainbow from time to time ..

Beautiful location, very windy walk along the top of the cliffs. Well worth the effort. Seal watching along the sea was great, the scenery stunning. What a beautiful location. The church was interesting, lots of information about it, and some artefacts on display openly to the public, very trusting. Just a shame some idiot has scrawled their name on one of the pews! Lovely area and very much worth a visit.
