Saxon Lodge

The management (Anita) was incredibly rude, discourteous and utterly vile to interact with. I hate to leave such a scathing review due to my experience of a single individual within an institution, but she really did change the atmosphere of any room she was in. She admittedly seemed to be despised by both residents and staff, but that comraderie is very little consolation. I’d seriously consider removing any elderly relatives you have from this institution. I have serious doubts as to whether this woman belongs in regular society, let alone caring for dementia patients.

I read (in detail) the recent CQC report for this home before sending Mum for respite and was reassured. We wanted somewhere with soul, this is somewhere that answers your phone calls and keeps to their commitments. Mum greatly enjoyed her time there, she had a good room where she watched, with great interest, everything that was going on. The most recent manager is very professional in her approach, she understood the needs of my Mum and included everything relevant in her care plan. It is a small home where all of the staff got to know Mum quickly, well informed by the care plans and provided excellent, individualised care. It beat the experience of a new and larger, more superficially glamorous care home she had tried, hands down!

i believe the previous review is regarding the previous manager, since my employment at this home 5th march 2019 the new manager here Teresa is very nice helpful and approachable and has done a amazing job with the staff and residents on making this a safe and loving home for the residents, and a lovely place to now work.

Disgusting! I would actually like to take every client in this home and move them to my house!! This is as an outside carer myself that I’m saying this, the management are rude, disrespectful and it’s honestly a question how they have licenses. Disgusting treatment towards staff and clients.

Failed my driving test (1 serious, 4 minor) because a pillock parked his car too close to the road turning off, next to the care home. Will definitely slash his tyres next time I go down the road. Hopefully he isn’t affiliated with the care home, which I know nothing about.

Staff are all really friendly and willing to help. Under new management which is a pleasure to see. Happy, cheerful amd relaxed place to visit loved ones who need that extra care. So glad to have chosen Saxon Lodge...

I am very pleased to say Saxon lodge has greatly improved,the home has had a fantastic make over inside and out,activities have extra funding with ,outings planned for the summer. All the residents are very happy with the future of their home.

The staff and residents at Saxon lodge are very lovely and happy, everyone acts like one big family, we all get along very well. Everyone is very positive in the home.
