Great pub. Very busy and understandably so. Some great beers and a lovely building to have a drink in.

We've been coming to Newcastle for the last year and the Bridge Hotel has become one of our favourite pubs. They always have on a big selection of ales and ciders, and the bar staff are happy to let you try samples till you find something you like. There is always music on are reasonable volumes and sport on the TVs but not too much to take away from the pub atmosphere.

Beautiful old pub. Unfortunately the barman was unbelievably miserable and doesn't greet anyone with a smile or a welcome hi. And is not someone who should be front of house. And I'm sure the customers to him are an inconvenience.

A wonderful little find a short distance from the Riverside and Newcastle Central Station.Very busy bar, standing room only for us. Fabulous atmosphere offering a wide range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including some local brews. The toilets are located downstairs. If you like stained glass, do have a look around at the scenes depicting the traditional trade of the area. Directly opposite, you'll find Newcastle Keep and part of the old castle walls, castle well, and the Castle Stairs. I suspect the way to do the stairs is down and not up as we did!!

Really authentic pub feel, with a wonderful stained glass waiting to add to the charm. A dozen bees I had never heard of (which is a great thing for me) and got to try a couple of superb IPAs. Not a contest with the much evolved and high powered offerings of the Pacific Northwest, but an interesting and very tasty take on the hazy. Super friendly bar man was happy to let us taste a couple to help with the decision making process.

The Bridge Hotel is a very striking building close by the Castle; it was just a short walk from where we were staying and easy to find.We visited the Bridge Hotel last week to go to the Singers and Musicians Night at the Folk Cub which takes place in an upstairs room. What a great atmosphere when we walked into the pub-it was absolutely buzzing and packed - exactly how you want a pub to be!That said, we were served quickly at the bar; the staff all friendly and attentive.Great choice of beers available together with all the usual non-alcoholic drinks such as J2O.I loved the beautiful stained glass Windows showing what I believe to be local scenes.Well worth a visit if you enjoy a pub with a great atmosphere and good choice of beer; especially recommended if you enjoy Folk music and would like to visit the second oldest Folk Club in the country (Mondays).

The whole pub is starting to look and feel tired. Missing carpet when going to the loos just give a poor impression been like this now for a few years now. Beers still kept well and staff a good. Always a good selection of real ales.
