Rossendale Minor Injury Unit

Had to go there on Sunday afternoon as the dressing over a lesion on my finger had come off and was worried it was getting infected. The receptionist, healthcare assistant and (advanced?) nurse (practitioner?) Were all very kind to me and took a genuine interest in my health and wellbeing. They were able to access my GP records meaning they could see all my existing medications and health issues which helps to provide continuity of care. They only had 1 nurse, 1 receptionist and 1 HCA. When I arrived the receptionist let me know there was someone in with them but I shouldn't have to wait long. I was seen within about 20-30 minutes which was much quicker than if I'd gone to A&E. The HCA and nurse gave sound advice about how I should care for the wound and what to look out for in terms of infection. I left feeling most satisfied with the experience and that I had been valued as an individual. Would definitely go there again with any issue that doesn't require a doctor. The NHS own the premises but the service is operated by a private company on behalf of the NHS. The facility was spotlessly clean and the staff all seemed to be genuinely enjoying their work.

What a change from the usual NHS service. The place is modern and spotlessly clean.No waiting,and with friendly,polite and efficient staff. The nurse I saw was lovely and sorted me out within 10 minutes,if only every NHS centre was like this.I would highly recommend.

I had to take a lady ,what turned out to have a shattered wrist at Rosendale minor injuries knowing that itcould be Xrayed. The lady was distressed and was in lots of pain. It turned out it could be Xrayed but there was No qualified person to do it .the receptionist said she would have to go to Blackburn or Burnley or Accricton. . On the bus or taxi. However They got someone to assess the injury. The nurse who was a colored person, was terrible very unhelpful The lady had to struggle getting her coat off and on, whilst this so-called female nurse just stood there and watch her struggle. Both taking her garment off and putting it on .This was Friday around 3 pm. This assessor should be cautioned this is completely unacceptable. They are supposed to be caring people black or white. The lady said she would not recommend anyone to visit the minor injuries at Rawtenstall walking injuries centre . It was Disgraceful. ..This incident truly Happend on the on Friday 3/11/23 at approximately 3 pm .was NO staff.

All useless sat on their behinds when my mum who’s suffering head injury comes in the lady pulls a face at my mum as if she’s an inconvenience to them. Absolutely appalled if you hate your job that much quit instead of taking it out of the patients. Disgusting

Great facility for minor injuries. Would be good if it was funded more to enable people to be x-rayed during evenings and weekends. Caring and attentive staff

My elderly, recently widowed, father in law had travelled up to Rossendale to visit us from Kent, to scatter his wife’s ashes here, as per her dying wishes. He has had blistered feet for some months (possibly diabetic). Due to the long drive he found that the blisters had become extremely painful. As such, we visited the Minor Injuries Unit in the hope they would be able to at least look at them and perhaps dress them. Their attitude was horrendously dismissive and they refused to even look at them, instead referring him to his own GP…oh, yes, only a 250 or so mile return drive home away, in a heatwave then, hmm Rossendale Minor Injuries Unit? Utterly useless, and, I might add, I say that as someone with several years’ experience as a medical negligence litigator behind me. Let us all hope that circumstances will not occur that require me to fall back on that experience.

Slipped on ice and landed on my shoulder. Some swelling and reduced range of motion.Visited here and was very impressed with all the staff I met from reception, clinician and radiographers.The clinician spent time explaining what injuries I had and how to exercise to prevent a frozen shoulder. Thank you to all the staff that helped me.

Absolutely fantastic place, makes Todmorden health centre and its promise of a local patients of todmorden a minor injuries a complete joke in its principle and its failure, If you have to attend Todmorden, they just send you to A and E mostly Halifax , Rochdale or Blackburn. In Rawtenstall you catered to my minor medical injury just fantastically, efficiently and I was in and out within 30mins.. and problem solved.. Thank you Rawtenstall Minor Injury centre credit to you all in your service to my needs.

Endoscopy unit - wow what a tremendous staff team. Five star service from these wonderful humans. Very knowledgeable, professional, warm and friendly, looked after me and my daughter so well. Cannot praise them enough!!

Fantastic service from Natalie the Advanced Nurse Practitioner on duty. This is the second time she has treated either me or a member of my family and I have found her to be knowledgeable in a variety of conditions. Without her expertise and persistence, I would have been sat in A&E for 10 hours. All the staff here deserve praise from reception to X Ray. Thank you
