Blake Group & The Metal Centre - Metal Fabrication

The guys at the metal centre at Blake have been fantastic! We had a break in and wanted to secure our shutters with a metal bar. They made the bar the very same day, so we could secure our house immediately. Very responsive and accommodating!!

Paddy at Blake Group was so so helpful. Firstly he was able to cut me 20 steel rods, 24h turnaround. Then when I came to collect them, he was really friendly and helpful, carrying them to the car, wrapping them and carefully loading into the car to avoid damage. Splendid job! Above and beyond. Highly recommended!

I reached out to Blake Group after another well known steel company in Edinburgh let me down at the 11th hour on a residential project in the centre of Edinburgh. I spoke to John Macdonald to explain the project and also stressed the importance of finding another steel supplier asap to keep my project moving. I had originally not contacted Blake Group because I assumed they would find my residential job too small (albeit it has over 20 sections of steel in a fifth floor penthouse extension), but boy was I wrong. John was out to see me on site within a few days and from the day I met him I could tell he was not only much more knowledgeable than the previous company, but just a genuinely nice person to work with. A very reasonable quote (cheaper than the other company I may add) was given and the work proceeded over the course of the next three months. The guys were always on site the day I needed them - I was never let down once even on days I gave them an hours notice. Lots of tweaks were made along the way (by me) and lots of issues cropped up mid build that had an impact on the steel, however Blake’s handled it all swiftly, smoothly and reassuringly to keep the project on track. So much so the main contractor on site, Edinburghs largest roofing company, has said he will not use anyone else going forward. I cannot thank John, Denis, Adrian and the team enough as my build would not have gone ahead without them. A great group of people I can now genuinely call friends and I will recommend them to anyone who asks. Don’t waste your time with other company’s - trust me. Thanks again.

Paddy Brogan from Blake Group has been excellent. No job too small, turned around quickly and willing to discuss the work in hand. Would recommend them to anyone.I have been working on a prototype design for over a year and needed the services of a blacksmiths. Because the work has often been a small job previous firms just put it to the back of the queue or did not get round to it. This was not the case with Blake Group.

Excellent experience working with Blake Group to facilitate a fully accessible access route into the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. The location was challenging having changing levels and mature specimen trees in the area. The team work and communication were excellent, with the construction phase of the bridging ramp going without a hitch. The end product is finished to a high standard of workmanship and quality and I would have no hesitation in recommending Blake Group to any potential client. From the initial enquiry, to the delivery of the steelwork, John MacDonald has been great to work with. Communication has been fantastic, as has the attention to detail. I felt confident throughout the project that John knew what I required and was capable of delivering it to a high standard of workmanship. Price was very competitive to. I contacted Blake Group with a request to construct and install an outdoor staircase from the first floor of my apartment in central Edinburgh extending to the garden below.Their communication from day one was excellent and I was so happy to have found a company to take on this intricate work as I didn't want an industrial looking staircase. I was very particular about the design and they took on board everything I suggested and came up with a design that really suited Georgian Edinburgh and they were careful to make everything comply with current building regulations.On delivery day the team were challenged to bring the entire construction through the house in separate pieces as we had no rear access to the garden. Everything was carried out with good humour and politeness and I would have no hesitation in recommending their very professional and efficient service.
