Really lovely birthday dinner atmosphere and food. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We would not only consider returning for food again but also an overnight stay to take advantage of the gardens with a cocktail in the sunshine.

My partner and I have eaten in the restaurant on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. The food is of a high quality and the service is quick and efficient. The staff have always been polite and pleasant and some of them show great maturity for their young years. I get the impression that business is going well and this is really good to see but the one and only, for the want of a better word, complaint, I have is that you can feel quite cramped depending on what part of the restaurant and building you are seated, it certainly can be cosy to say the least. I would certainly recommend this restaurant.

Hidden gem! We were blown away with the service, attentiveness, food and drink. Opted for vegetarian option, was over whelmed with my meal and have never had a meal like it, my omnivore partner was lost for words as he went the veggie option also. Will absolutely be back and can definitely recommend here.

Outstanding food, best roast beef I have had in years. Outstanding attentive service with a beautiful cosy atmosphere, fire burning, lovely background music and wine list just wonderful. First time here and cannot wait to come back time and time again.

Meal was lovely, although we where at a table at the end of restaurant, and had to continually listen to the chef calling orders and shouting commands to the kitchen staff ....very off putting as a customer....as a chef myself I have never experienced this situation before .After we finished our deserts ,we ordered another drink to finish the evening, received it ,only to be told we had 7 minutes left at our table ......one point,on booking the table I was not told at any stage ,there was a time limit !! And second, u don't take a drink order off a table, set it down and then tell your customers that you have 7 minutes left....to finish your drink and pay your bill like what the hell .....took the whole taste off my birthday meal

Have been here 20 plus Times. Before covid.First time back today. Service and staff was very good. Had the roast beef Sunday Dinner.Very poor and no taste at all.At £32 its above averageCost. The starter Korean chicken wings very poor.The sweet and service was good.The other people in my group. All felt the same.HammyWill

How can you not fall in love with this beautiful place? Ivan a quiet gentleman and has this restaurant accommodation business down to a fine art. Our apartment St John I believe is stunning like a hobbit house with bags of detail, thoughtfulness & charm from quaint windows, plants to a dentist chair! It’s spacious with stunning bathroom & bedroom. I might just try and hide here and stay longer! Looking forward to eating at the highly regarded restaurant!
