My 81yr old Mum popped by to ask a question today and the door was closed and locked in her face. Not what I'd expect and I will be changing our entire family nominated pharmacy as a result.

I used to pick up a prescription every monday first thing , they used to have it ready at 9.00 as they were expecting me [they opened at 8.30 ]. anyway the original young lady chemist left and they started saying that I would have to wait until 9.30 , even so they would sometimes make me wait if it was not the usual woman in , then they said 10 .00 , the last time I went in they made me wait until 10.45 , when I suggested phoning ahead at about 9.00 a woman [I am assuming a manager ] came storming outiof the back and said as I could not wait patiently it would have to be 11.00 !! , the script I was picking up was methadone which I was using [with great results] to battle addiction , for methadone users who still use heroin they have something on their bedside table to smoke/fix as soon as they wake up withdrawing , with someone using just methadone they need this medication as early as possible ,in my case this is was more urgent as I have a very , very slow metabolism and it would not start to kick in until dinnertime , it got so bad with this chemist , that I was becoming really desperate on a monday morning and during the last couple of pickups had to buy off the street before collecting my script [ for the first time in 3 years ] , anyway I canged my chemist , where he is happy to have it for me ready at about9 .15 ,and I have not used anything since , I was so grateful I got them a box of chocolates on christmas week , i do not know why I was treated so bad with Rowlands as I was always polite , when I did grumble about waiting [even though they were always expecting me ] the manager said I was raising my voice even though I had made a point of not doing this ! , a lovely little chemist at one time , then it was like put this guy in his place " why do they take on addicts if they treat them so badly

Does what you expect. Nothing spectacular but solid establishment.

It might sound silly but I didn't realise how good this pharmacy was until I moved away. As someone with mental health problems it was always pleasant and the staff remembered me. Sometimes would encourage me and improve my self esteem! It wasn't until I moved I realised they had handled reordering my prescription and how difficult that is for me to manage now i often run out and face problems as I wait for a new script. I also find going in to pharmacies can feel quite exposed, it's one of the most anxious times of my week now. I hope all the staff at Aughton Rd are doing well and thank you for your professionalism and kindness ill always remember it

Awful, can not cope, not helpful, to do a prescription for toothpaste 30mins ridiculous, not first time, but will be the last!! Your better going somewhere else, trust me.
