Moor Farm

Since moving to the area we’ve recently found this wonderful family run business. Our Turkey and Christmas meats were first class, I think possibly the best Turkey I’ve ever had, and I’m no Michelin star chef, but it was full of flavour and incredibly moist even when eaten the next day cold.That’s why it’s easy to give a 5 star review, Judith and her team were very helpful and knowledgeable in their field.

Good host, great food and a tempting shop

I've supported and promoted local businesses (including Moor Farm) for years but will NEVER use Moor Farm or their tea rooms again due to the owner being rude and nasty. I even sent them a private message to give her the opportunity to apologise. Sadly, she doesn't have the decency. Moor Farm replied to my private message after I posted this review. I still haven't received a sincere apology so this review will stay.

Friendly staff, a wide range of home produced or locally sourced produce. It's a working farm so you get to see animals being reared. The meat outclasses supermarkets on quality and variety. A real boon in this Covid time. They've made a real effort to supply hard to obtain items such as flour.Addendum.The new shop is open. Although the charm of visiting the farm is no longer part of the experience, the new shop more than makes up for it. Large, bright and airy with a well designed layout and an expanded range of foodstuffs on display, are a delight for us ‘foodies’. Helpful staff and a coffee shop section soon to open when restrictions permit. Ample car parking and easy access from the road. A must visit.

My 4 year old and I visit Moor Farm on a weekly basis for an afternoon treat. There is always a warm welcome, and a fantastic selection of tasty cakes to choose from.My daughter loves it so much it was her request to visit on her recent birthday. The wonderful staff and owner Judith all sang happy birthday and brought over a delicious slice of cookie cake. Tils was made up! Can't rate highly enough.We try to buy our fruit and veg from here also as there is a great variety of locally sourced produce to choose from. Fantastic shop!

If your thinking of having this company to do the catering for your wedding or function seriously think twice!! Their only interested in functions of several £1000's without any budget, as the proprietor said to me they usually cater for weddings with no budget!!!! Yeah right !!! Unfortunately we had to book 1 of 5 caterers, booking Sissons barn as the venue for my daughters wedding last November, and unfortunate for us we chose this one! My granddaughter tested positive for covid just before the wedding so didn't attend we were told we were lucky they turned up to do the catering, they expected everyone to wear masks, although this was not government policy at the time., we paid for a small hog roast with trimmings, but we got cold slices of pork with a hogs head on the end for decoration!! Served with cold potatoes, a very ordinary salad and coleslaw!! In the evening we were meant to behaving a cheese tower, what we got was a huge block of cheddar with a couple if other cheeses, a few biscuits and chutneys, everyone commented on unfortunately the food let the day down!!! In fact the proprietors daughter couldn't wait to leave as she was going to a farmers ball!!! We paid £2,300 for this service catering for approx 38 people, it certainly did not represent good value for money from this company, in fact they didn't really want to be there, as they didn't interact or appear pleasant to our guests. Putting a bit of wedding cake in a few boxes was too much to ask, as that was another additional cost we were told!! SO BE VERY AWARE!!!!!

I absolutely love this place. It's a family run farm with an amazing shop/ café. The owners and staff are very approachable, welcoming, and helpful. We order our xmas turkey every year from them, and we are never disappointed. I would definitely recommend this shop/café xx

Love Moor’s Farm, go every week! Nathan, my Grandson is Butcher there! Recently had afternoon tea their with my family, delicious! First rate service! and a lovely rendition of Happy Birthday, sang by all the Staff with Rosie bringing my Birthday cake! Always sure of a warm welcome by Judith and all who work there! Definitely worth a visit! Meat and specialty sausages tasty! Food in Café delicious! Hot foot it down there folks! You won’t be disappointed!

We booked into the Savoy for a night to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We had a Savoy full English breakfast. No disrespect to the Savoy chefs but the Moor Farm breakfast was way more better than the Savoy breakfast
