Merilyn Phillips recently carried out a complete transformation of my kitchen having renovated the bathroom a couple of years earlier. I cannot speak highly enough about Amy and Alice who ensured everything ran smoothly and were on hand whenever needed with help and advice.I was delighted with everyone who worked on the job. Nothing was too much trouble and the work was carried out to a high standard.I would have no hesitation in recommending Merilyn Phillips. I knew I was in safe hands and that any issues would be resolved quickly and without question. For me, that is worth its weight in gold.

Merilyn Phillips in 2022 designed and managed a complete refurbishment of our house in Parkgate, with a very substantial two-roomed extension comprising new kitchen and living room, as well as other internal alterations, including a home office and en-suite bathroom. Merilyn Phillips’ commissioned the architects, who produced a excellent plan for the extension — well proportioned, stylish and blending well with (in fact improving) the original style of the house; submitted the necessary planning application, and organised the required building regulation inspections. Merilyn Phillips advised on internal design and decor, from the overall feel to details of layout, materials, flooring, furniture, units and appliances. They also coordinated, during a period of exceptional demand and scarcity, inputs from builders, grounds workers, bricklayers, roofers, electricians, plasterers, decorators heating and gas engineers, flooring installers, etc..The results are quite spectacular: the house has been transformed, is bright, spacious, and infinitely improved by the refurbishment. Amy from Merilyn Philips is an exceptionally talented interior designer, with reliable and helpful staff. She has great aesthetic sense, and keeps an eye the overall plan, while paying attention to detail and dealing with all logistical issues in a timely and efficient manner. She and the team are also personable, responsive and considerate in minimising disruption. The craftsmanship of all of the many trades was, without exception, exceptional.In summary, Merilyn Phillips did a brilliant job, and I have no reservations in recommending them for interior design and refurbishment design and works.

Our second project with Merilyn Phillips this year. We have just had our bathroom refurbished and have been really impressed with the whole process from start to finish. Amy listened carefully to what we wanted and then through her design, helped us choose some really lovely quality fittings. The installation team were marvellous. The team at Merilyn Phillips undertook an extensive renovation of our 1920’s house.Initially we employed Amy and her team to undertake the refit of our kitchen, but this rapidly expanded into a combination of building work, garage conversion, multiple bathroom and bedroom refits. This is not the first extensive renovation work we have undertaken but we can safely say that working with Merilyn Phillips has been easily the most positive experience we have had. The culture of customer care and can-do attitude shines through across all their employees and their carefully chosen contractors. The attention to detail in project management and the way that they work with us as their customers to arrive at the solution we want rather than the solution that is easiest for them is a real breath of fresh air. As you might expect for a project that lasted over 18 months there are times when things don’t go according to plan. The calmness and no quibble way that these were dealt with took a lot of stress out of what could have been some very difficult moments. I would also add that that having so many different people in your own home could have felt very invasive, but many of those we worked with felt more like having friends helping out rather than strangers.And of course, the most important aspect of the work was the end product. We are delighted with the work that was done, both in terms of the confidence that it has been done properly to a very high standard and with aesthetics that have delivered a home that we wanted to modernise but sympathetically retain its existing character.

We have recently completed a new kitchen installation which involved a large amount of preparatory internal structural work. From start to finish, Merilyn Phillips have been outstanding. Unlike many other kitchen fitters they have first call on a team of builders so they can package up complex projects and offer a complete service. Merilyn Phillips is very much a family firm & has taken time to build up a fantastic team of master craftsmen who work extremely well together. In addition to designers, builders & kitchen fitters, the team includes highly personable & expert electricians, plumbers, plasterers, tilers and decorators. The whole team is brilliantly led and co-ordinated by Amy who is Merilyn’s daughter. Nothing has ever been too much trouble and throughout the project Amy has remained solution focused and customer centred. Most importantly she really cares about getting it right and doing what is best for the customer. In summary we would have no hesitation in recommending this company and have been delighted with what they have achieved
