Visited today. Arrived at 09.20 and carpark beginning to fill. School holidays this week and Halloween walk about in woods.Good footpaths all the way around.Few places to stop, sit and admire the lovely views.Autumnal colours in full swing. Beautiful golds and coppers through the trees and scattered leaves to the woodland floor.A map given on entry guides you to the appropriate colour coded paths for you to choose depending on your mobility or preference of choice. Some steep areas if you like a more robust walk.Cafe, shop and toilets at the entrance to the woods. It's best to book your ticket on line as it works out cheaper than just turning up on the day.Ample carparking spaces.Beautiful place to visit.

Superb little trail through the woods with various obstacles to keep the little ones engaged. The route is well paved, but steep in some sections, and makes a great, quiet getaway from the noisy river. There's various carparks across the Bolton Abbey site, with parking all day for £15 (£12.50 online Booking). Bolton abbey makes for a tremendous day out with family and pets, whether its having a picnic, enjoying the river or going for a ramble across the site.

This is so good, I’m so impressed by this. Why doesn’t every walk have something this engaging? Very simple, very fun, our young cousins thoroughly enjoyed the walk because they were excited to see what activity was next! Highly recommend to all families with primary aged children.

We did this walk as part of seeing Bolton Abbey ruins. The Abbey ruins were great and walk was very nice. The carpark for the abbey costs £15 but then everyone can go and see the Abbey (free) and do the welly walk, and the cafe half way along the walk looked reasonably priced.

Absolutely beautiful picturesque place! Parking is absolutely ridiculous £15 on the day I believe it's £12.50 online. We managed to find a parking spot outside free. A lovely walk ,some steep areas also some lovely flat ones...can choose what suits you. We didn't complete the full walk but will definitely return with a picnic. The Riverside cafe is reasonably priced .

On arrival ask the car park attendant for a ticket you can use at all car parks. We used this to travel up and down the estate. Lots of family walks, and you can make them as long an short as you want. We still have so much more to explore but the river walk, ice cream and coffee was great. This is a perfect place to walk with dogs and children in the countryside. So much better than the national trust.Book the day before and save £2.A great family day out, with so much to do.

Great day out. My daughter loved the welly walk and all of the activities to do along the trail. You can start from either the Bolton Abbey side or the Riverside car park. It's about a two mile walk there and back. Not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs due to uneven ground and steep slopes.

Really nice place and great for walking. Nice places around to eat and rest or pack some food and eat on the grass. I would definitely go again.Book in advanced and it is £10 for the car park, if not, it is £12 upon arrival.
