The Eye of the Needle and Sweeping Birches
The Needle is more difficult to see these days, especially if there are leaves on the trees and if you try and see it from the viewing platform" - the 10 ton steel block. If you walk 10 or 15 meters upstream it will just seem to appear out of the blue on the opposite river bank.Seems like the “Sweeping Birches” have now grown to mostly obscure the Needle."
