Didn't get the daily housekeeping that we asked for on the form we had to fill in upon arrival & the beds were softer than we would have liked. The shower also had quite a bit of mould & the doors didn't shut properly.The food though was very nice, plentiful & the staff were really very helpful & very pleasant.

Absaloutly loved it a great wedding venue and great rooms to stay over in .I was not the only one who loved it. everyone I spoke to said how lovely the staff food and rooms were.Nothing was too much trouble for any one of the wonderful staff.What a fantastic day we ALL hadThank you to all at the Red LionXxxx Sue xxx

Really disappointed and quite an unpleasant experience in the end! We were visiting the area and chose to eat here because of the good reviews. We had booked and were seated with menus almost immediately and we ordered our food when our drinks arrived - all good up to now but this is pretty much where the 'service' ended. Starter took quite a while and the Calamari batter was dark so was over cooked but nobody bothered to check in with us and at this point didn't want to complain. We had finished eating our mains of really dry pork with inedible crackling and dry and tough beef again with nobody checking in with us, and after about 25 minutes waiting for the plates and empty glasses to be cleared I tried to get the attention of the lady who seated us to order dessert (for our super patient little one) but, she was chatting for a long time to the only other diner in there - an older, possibly local lady so I didn't interrupt. At this point I was fully twisted around in my seat so it was obvious I was trying to get her attention but when she had finished chatting she wondered off into the kitchen. I assumed by her lack of regard that she had finished her shift so I went to the bar to get the attention of another member of staff. We eventually ordered dessert from the same lady which took a long time but was nice enough. The glasses lined up at the end of the table from our drinks order on arrival where still there when we left! It just felt like we weren't worth the bother - our bill by the way was over £100. Happy to speak with the owner if they wish to follow up.

Been before a few times and never had to complain before until now. 2 out of 4 of our mains were cold and most of it was left on the plate uneaten. Told the waiter who seemed very uninterested and didnt offer an apology. Wont be returning for a while. 2 out of the 3 desserts didnt taste nice and got thrown in the bin after 2 mouthfuls

Lovely atmosphere.Staff very friendly too.Food was delicious.Parking at door, and good for people with mobility problems, pushchairs etc.

We had a family meal there. The food was very nice, except the meat was cooked in gravy, and no mange tout.A bit expensive.The reason I gave 3 stars is mainly because the toilets were disgusting. Not clean, no locks on the doors, broken toilet seats, no toilet roll holders. A must for the pub to put right . I wouldn't go back because of that.

Had Sunday lunch here. The food was amazing and will definitely go back. The only negative was that the had a singer on as entertainment and he was so loud I was having to shout to the person sitting next to me to be heard and the staff couldn't hear me either. So instead of staying and having more drinks we cleared off. A weird and inappropriate choice of entertainment in my opinion.

A lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, some of the menu wasn't available, a few soft drinks were also unavailable and this was at 5.45pm. Having said that, what we ordered (cod & chips, pasta and steak pie) was lovely. It arrived quickly, hot and good sized portions. All in all a very enjoyable meal, will definitely be back.

Excellent all round. Staff, food, accommodation, all great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was exquisite, really worth a visit. A little hidden gem.
