The usual wotherspoons. Food OK. Drinks cheap. Atmosphere friendly. Tables had not been cleared or cleaned. Had to ask for a table to be cleaned before we ordered. Free coffee and tea top up. OK, for a quick visit and a drink.

I went in on a rainy Sunday morning around 10:30 am for breakfast. The place was quiet (and without any hostess) I was told at the bar to sit anywhere. So I sat down and waited. After 10 minutes I went to the bar and said I wanted to order. I was told “I will get someone to serve you” by the man behind the counter. Another 10 minutes waiting and no one in sight. I watched as people ordered drinks at the bar. I’m going to assume the service is better when it’s busy. Eventually got fed up and left. The food looked good. Too bad I didn’t feel it worthy of the wait and poor service. Not impressed.

Took a group of 20 German students and teachers here for lunch during their Exchange Visit. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was good and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cheap and cheerful. I often pop in with my lad for breakfast or lunch. We avoid Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings which tend to be rammed and noisy, which is fine, just not for us. I use the app to order from the table, drinks usually arrive within 4 minutes and the food about 5 minutes after that. Service is normally good, although sometimes they seem somewhat understaffed, e.g. tables don't always get cleared as quickly as you might expect. The menu is adequate and there's always an excellent selection of beers to choose from. Some folk are a bit snobby about Spoons but where else can you get a meal for two (drinks included) for £20-£25? If the dog was allowed in it would be perfect.

I'm fully aware that this is a spoons. But as far as they go, cannot grumble one single bit. The service is lightning fast, the food is seriously tasty, and the atmosphere is always booming. The staff are alway working tirelessly and it shows. Again, the food really is great here; value for money cannot be beaten anywhere else!

Came along with the young family. Found a table away from a large Thursday afternoon stag event. Seems their air conditioning in the building has an issue - we were freezing. Mentioned to our server who shrugged his shoulders and said they were warm elsewhere. Food was good. Child number 2 was on hot chocolate which tasted like heated dish water. Seems their machine needs a smack every so often....of only we knew...

Great breakfast. Only negative was they forgot my eggs, and the black pudding was very dry.
