Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre

It was one of the best Christmas Market in Norfolk and Suffolk. The people who vote to end the Street Christmas Market sould be panish. What a stupid idea.So so disappointed.... it was a family Market, great to go with kids and spend money , buy Christmas presents.So so sad .

Shockingly poor in 2022. Feels like a bad decision from whoever has stopped what used to be a fantastic and well supported annual event. Reconsider for the benefit of many.

What on earth has happened to the Bury Christmas market ? It used to be amazing, the car park in front of the Angel hotel, the bury ruins, a few lovely big buildings all full with beautiful stalls, mulled wines, lots of food, children's rides, a stage with singing it was buzzing with Christmas fun.Now it doesn't exist but you don't find out until you get here as it's still advertised as having a Christmas market.All it is now is a few stalls inside the Cathedral which isn't that big and it shuts at 4.30.It's by far the worse Christmas market I've ever been to infact it's an insult to even advertise it as a Christmas market.Shame on you Bury St Edmunds.

We've visited a few times before, and this year was very disappointing compared to previous years. Far fewer stalls and generally felt less Christmassy. No parking set up specifically for visitors, so not easy to drive there if you don't know the area. Cathedral was almost impossible to walk round. No-one was monitoring how many people were entering so it quickly turned into gridlock. People were also walking in the exit only"

Used to be good with festivities littered around the whole town. Now there's a few cramped stalls in the cathedral. Gone from a 10/10 to a 1/10 - don't waste your time, and I lament this decision.

WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH!! DON'T GO!! To call it a 'Christmas Fayre' is really stretching it. It's a craft fayre full of second hand jigsaw puzzles, some fudge and some jam. We went to the Christmas market in BSE in 2019 and it was brilliant! There were hundreds of stalls outside the Angel Hotel and in the Abbey Gardens with everything you'd expect from a 'Christmas Market'. What you get now is NOT a Christmas Market. It is absolutely appalling. A complete waste of a day!To enable me to post this review, I have had to give it a star. It isn't even worth 1 star.

I came from bedfordshire,very disappointed with so-called, Christmas market,was just a village craft fair, not a patch on what it used to be .I shant be back.

Rubbish - don't bother. An average craft fair. Not worth the trip. Nothing like it used to be. Lots of confused people walking around looking for something better.

After hearing great things about the wonderful Christmas Market at Bury St Edmunds we booked a coach trip to go and see for ourselves. After an hours journey we arrived, Great let's go and have fun ! well After an hour of walking we had seen all that was on offer! we only had 5 long hours to wait for our coach! what a waste of time.

I normally go to this market every year. Really look forward to it and end up buying lots of handmade gifts. I knew the market had been downsized at last minute this year as when I looked a few months back it was a full market and when I looked in November it wasn't. Me, my partner and mum in law were so disappointed i felt sorry for the poor stalls thats were crowded into the cathedral I'm surprised if they got much trade as it was so packed no one could stand long enough to look.The ones in the Apex were significantly less than previous years. We actually came away from here feeling very deflated and not in the christmas spirit. I hope the council come to their senses and put the market back to how it should be. We certainly won't be visiting again if its the same next year never known ir to be so bad.
