What a gem of a place. Set overlooking Lancaster in a rural setting. They have a lovely café with awesome cakes that anyone can visit, all helps towards the rescue centre. Staff are lovely, we were trialling a rescue dog. Very professional, the walking areas are lovely and you can volunteer.

A well run, friendly, caring animal shelter. I adopted my cat from here and was impressed with the way they look after their animals, and how they give them as much attention and space and enrichment as the shelter environment offers. They are very professional, with health and well being the highest priority. Despite 9 weeks in the shelter after her owner passed away my little girl was right at home, happy and relaxed within 24 hours of me brining her home - and I put that down to the level of care she received. I would thoroughly recommend looking at this shelter if you are thinking of adopting.

Thank you Animal Rescue Cumbria for letting me adopt my cat Molly (previously Pine). Everything was very efficient from my first visit to meet her to the adoption visit . It's also good that they are very careful that you can provide the right home for the animal, and they really take care in vetting prospective adopters. A great rescue centre!

Great place, great people, no nonsense or stalling the process of adoption. We've got our lurcher Luna from them; we knew from the beginning she was a handful (jumpy) but very affectionate. I've been training her since last September and she's a wonderful dog now. Thank you, all the staff at ARC xxx

Recently took a litter of kittens from here. There was no question as to where I would go when I wanted kittens recently. Had a litter from them 10 years ago and know that the animals are kept in lovely clean, spacious conditions and get loads of time care and attention from staff and volunteers.
