Student Roost - Tramways

Price is probably on par with most other uni accommodation. The one star I have given is for the location which is convenient for the town, and my room which was nice.However it was also right next to the kitchen which meant any noise travelled right through, which had kept me up many a time at night.Otherwise, would not recommend.Very loud at times on site during the night/quiet hours-these are never enforced.Some members of staff in the office I have found very rude and unhelpful. When I applied for my room they said the gates were locked for security purposes at all times, however if you have things to unload you could ask for them to be unlocked at any time to bring a car in to unload. Yet on the very few occasions I have asked they either refused to open the gate or have been extremely reluctant to do so, and whenever I have needed a trolly there has never been any in reception-meaning my parents on several occasions have had to park on double yellow lines outside to help me in with my stuff-as there is literally no where else to park anywhere near the site. (When we asked the staff about parking they just said ‘yeah there isn’t any’).Also absolutely rife with COVID during the pandemic with no evidence of any attempts to stop any of the many parties or gatherings going on in people’s flats. And the kitchen was filthy when I moved in-especially the oven-and has remained so throughout.

Tramways is the perfect place for students who are looking for modern and contemporary living while being safe and secure throughout their life away from home.The staff are friendly, polite and are there to provide help in any given situation. Providing you haven't done anything to cheese them off, there is no seriousness when walking into the main office and they love a bit of banter.The rooms are well built, spacious and have a large amount of storage for all of your paraphernalia. For the eye-watering price tag, you do have included in every room en-suites that are just enough to provide your parents with the knowledge that you don't follow the 'uni student' stereotype of being unhygienic. Providing you get blessed with great flatmates (which I did), the kitchen/living room is also a great social area that is spacious and already comes equipped with the basics such as a fridge/freezer(s) and a microwave that even has a defrost mode, very swish. Also for your washing, there is a laundry room that also has dryers, so there is no worry of a shortage of clean clothing.With me being a lazy chap I chose to bring a bicycle with the knowing that I had a great, secure (complete with 24/7 CCTV) bike storage room - just bring your own locks. After hours, there is security on patrol to crash your flat parties and to keep everything safe and secure. The 'social space' is another great facility to utilise with friends to hang out, have a game of pool or watch some TV. As with the rest of Tramways, the social space is always immaculate and is maintained regularly by technicians. Related to that, any problems that occur are attended to rapidly in order to keep the accommodation up to its A* standard.The location of Tramways situates itself right next to the train station which I find handy when travelling home or for when you have friends visiting. The nearest supermarket is only a 5 minute stroll away and there are always taxi's outside the train station for when the weather is bad or for the times when you're too intoxicated to walk to the nightclubs.Despite the premium price tag, Tramways is premium accommodation which is displaying a fine example of superior student living represented by its cleanliness, the fact that everything is well-built and is led by a fantastic management and maintenance team. If you haven't guessed already, I would highly recommend living here as it sure won't let you down.

I’ve lived at Tramways for three years and I love it! The rooms are a nice size and the location is ideal with the train station, town centre and uni campus all being within walking distance. The management team are extremely helpful and welcoming, and I have really enjoyed living here!

Nice safe but place could do with an overall clean once students have left so it's clean for next lot

Great place to stay whilst studying at Chester uni. Loved being able to have the experience of sharing a student flat, without having to rent a student house. I switched from renting a student house, to here in my last year and the whole experience was better. Cleaner, staff on site at all times (didn't have to wait 2 weeks for the landlord to finally come to the house to sort something) and the biggest thing for me was having my own bathroom. Location is a little further away from the main campus, but it's fab for the train station and the city centre. Social space lacked a bit when I first moved in but they seem to have really worked on it recently so it's a lot nicer. Even through covid, tramways felt like our own town. So that helped with lockdown a lot, I felt really lucky to feel so supported by the staff and the little tramways community.

I lived here for a year and 4 months and I absolutely loved it. En-suite rooms with a shared kitchen; totally worth every pound I spent monthly on rent. The staff at the concierge are really nice and helpful. I enjoyed the proximity to the train station and the city centre. I would totally recommend

My daughter moved in last month. On the day of the move the staff were out organising cars to park and providing shopping trolleys for students to move their belongings.I have moved my kids a few times to different accomodation and this was by far the best organised.The place seems lovely also.

Very serene, lovely place to stay as a student, impressive and secured. The common room are well maintained and not pets allowed. Keeping this place trimmed and nice must cost a fortune. Am very impressed

The best student accommodation i've been in in my four years of University as an international student.Stayed with them during my placement year.The price is very good when the location, facilities, quality, maintainance are taken into consideration.Very good and responsive staff. The staff are very good, especially Dara and the people involved unlike my experience with other accommodations.I've stayed with 4 different accommodations in my time in the UK and this has got to be the best one.There was a small incident and one particular staff was not helpful at all. But everything was taken care of the very next day.So again, the response and maintainance is really good. Would recommend this place. 10/10

I have been here two years and have really enjoyed my experience here! The rooms and the kitchen are a great size. They also have a social area that is great to watch movies in and hang out. The staff here have always been welcoming and are really easy to get along with!
