The Harpy Houseboat, Tower Bridge
An incredible houseboat. I visited for lunch as a guest of the owner (I served on the Harpy as a Customs Officer in the 1970s). The conversion is superb, transformed into a luxury holiday let with spectacular views of Tower Bridge, yet retaining the character that I remember from days gone by. I strongly recommend that you consider it if you want a unique up-market stay in London, I hope to visit myself on a future date.

Just returned from a 3 night stay with friends on The Harpy & it was just perfect. Very clean & everything you could possibly need was provided. Beds where exceptionally comfortable & the views are simply stunning, especially at night when Tower Bridge & the city are lit up.A very unique place to stay & definitely one we'd like to visit again.

The Harpy Houseboat, Tower Bridge
Five of us stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate a double birthday (my wife's and my daughter's) which had been booked as a surprise although I let slip it was a house boat. But what a boat - we had not expected anything so amazing in such a fantastic location with superb views of Tower Bridge. All the fittings, fixtures, furniture and art work in The Harpy are beautiful and in keeping with such a lovely old 'boat'. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and we struggled to find anything that was missing however in the end we did come up with a pizza wheel! though maybe there was one somewhere but we just didn't find it in the many drawers and cupboards.Waking up in the morning and drawing the electric curtains in the Master Cabin to reveal the stunning view of Tower Bridge is a memory that we will always remember fondly. We are glad we didn't have many activities planned in London so we could sit and admire the views and watch the tide go in and out and The Harpy move up and down. When we left and came home we missed the gentle rocking. The Harpy was a fantastic bubble in busy London and it was hard to believe that we were so close to all the action. We really appreciated the time that Andrew spent showing us around The Harpy. He was the perfect host and it was good to hear about the history of the 'boat' which obviously is his pride and joy. Maybe in addition to the manual explaining the working of items and where to find things a page on the history of The Harpy would be interesting for guests.Thank you so much for sharing The Harpy with us.

What a fantastic place to stay in London. We spent a long weekend overlooking the Thames and loved every minute of it. The Harpy is perfectly placed to explore London. Its warm and inviting and has everything you could possibly need for a holiday. We will happily go back again in the future, and would absolutely recommend it as a place to stay in London.

The Harpy Houseboat, Tower Bridge
We had an amazing 3 night stay on The Harpy, using this unique houseboat as the base for celebrating our micro wedding.Relaxing was easy as it was very spacious, well equipped and had so much charm and character. We loved learning about the history of the boat and continually spotting the little details in the décor, making the venue all the more special. There are a lot of great restaurants nearby but we dined on deck as it was hard not to take full advantage of the unparalleled views of Tower Bridge and the City. We were lucky with the weather and the evening light at sunsets gave this view a magnificent backdrop on one side whilst at the same time mirroring on the glass buildings of Canary Wharf on the other. We loved everything about our stay, this place is a real London gem!

The Harpy Houseboat, Tower Bridge
Loved it, still basting in the afterglow of our most unique experience we have ever had, 1 week in September 2018 at the Harpy House in London. It was roomy and spacious for our party of 7.As with previous reviews, Andrew greeted us warmly and gave information about how to navigate the nautical themed Harpy House to make it the best time one could possibly have, and beyond, as though we were royalty. He taught us the history of the boat, along with the area, Including photos throughout. Check out the website. His passion and attention to detail was radiant and infectious.Due to the location in the heart of London on the Thames, it was very easy to get around and explore by foot, & private and secure on the Harpy. We did not expect such comfortable accommodations with great taste-the pictures do not do it justice. We felt like Londoners immediately, shopping right nearby. If you want a lot of fun and a peaceful time in one, this is well worth it, and 'a must' to return to. Since we enjoyed ourselves immensely, we have passed the good word along to our family and friends, who stated they are going to book into 2019. We are jealous. Thank-you Andrew and Julie. We will be back one day.

Fantastic 5 days on The Harpy. All expectations for our stay on this house boat were exceeded. Family of 7 - aged 8 to 66. So much space, high spec interior, and communication from the team, including direct calls from the owner, were much appreciated and confirmed the incredible accommodation is match by a high level of service.Dinner parties, lounging on the deck, as well as chilling in the lounge all enjoyed during our stay on The Harpy. The overall experience is only match when learning more about the history of this structure which Andrew was enthusiastic to share when we inquired for more information. The views of Tower Bridge and the City will be mentioned in several reviews - but they will take your breath away. Staying on The Harpy made us feel like we became apart of London History.Location was perfect for us as well. Quick walk to the tube which connects us to all London. Sometimes we walked - as far as Buckingham Palace, and when needed cabs would easily find us on Mill Street and off we would go!Highly recommend this experience if you are looking for an exceptional space to stay, oozing with character, and will create a memory that will last a lifetime.

What an incredible experience to be able to visit London while staying literally on the Thames. Each day we awoke and went to sleep with the most beautiful views of Tower Bridge, imagine Tower Bridge being your night light!!Not only was the location one of a kind, the Harpy had all the accommodations of a top notch hotel. We slept 10 comfortably and never ran out of hot water for showers. Everything you use in your home, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryers, you found easily on the Harpy, there was not a thing missing. This was truly one of the most wonderful accommodations we have ever rented and it was certainly the most unique.Andrew was great. We would love to return some day!

Wow, what to say about the beautiful Harpy. We had a fantastic weekend with friends celebrating my husbands 60th on board. We managed to surprise him twice, one on arriving there to find he was staying on board with 6 of our dearest friends and then the next day when we had a crowd turn up for lunch. It was so magical we really didn't want to leave. A view shared by all including Martin who came to help on Sunday!!!The views are amazing looking out to Tower Bridge and at night when its all lit its spectacular. Sitting on deck at 2am my husband and I listened to the sounds of London. I particularly commented how peaceful and quiet it was and Rob noticed the sounds of the birds and nature around. We even had a visit both days from a young seal which we named Dave (no idea why). We were all amazed to see this and at first we were worried but then on googling found seals are returning to the Thames. As for Harpy itself, the owners have made this a truly amazing destination and I've enjoyed a couple of chats with Andrew learning more of its history and his ownership of the houseboat, which was so interesting. The boat had all we needed and more. The rooms are beautifully done and as it was my booking we got the en-suite room overlooking Tower Bridge at night through the large window.I only hope one day we can return to Harpy for another stay but rest assured when we visit London and walk along this stretch of the Thames we will always look fondly at Harpy and wish for sure that we were on there again, enjoying the magic of this place.
