Vets4Pets - Hartlepool

I have had 2 separate experiences at these vets. One good, one very bad. Professional and reassuring vets practice with appointments available when you need them. We are new to the area and were quite upset by our pet being unwell as we had not found a vet yet and they were very efficient and reassuring. This was our first experience with these vets. Our second experience was not good. The quality of the vets at this practice varies hugely. The second time we visited my pet was very unwell to the point they could barely stand, they are a large dog, and the vet was very unhelpful and cold. The waiting room is so small and this is where they insist they weigh your pet every time you visit. My pet gets distressed by being weighed and was very unwell and the waiting room was chaotic which did not help my pets anxiety. My pet had been weighed on her previous visit therefore the need for her to be weighed under such stressful circumstances was unnecessary. It was all very upsetting and unprofessional. The vet barely spoke to me about what was going on, she refused to look at my pets notes and manhandled my pet. The vet had a poor grasp of English, maybe this was the reason for her not speaking to me. It was a bizarre situation and I've never experienced anything quite like it from a vet, it was like she didn't like animals or people. Why she had chosen to be a vet I do not know. I also did not think the advice of giving my pet the medication again in a couple of weeks, despite this being the second time she had had an extreme adverse reaction to be good advice. It was just a flea treatment medication and there are many alternatives, certainly not worth giving it to an animal who then is so unwell they are sick until they cannot stand. Oh and as I'd bought the flea treatment in bulk I was left with the rest of the expensive tablets as they refused to refund me. After this experience I have left this practice.

Wouldn't take Milo anywhere else, All the staff remember him as he was so small when he went for his first injection. Receptionists do an amazing job in such a busy environment and the vets are so loving towards Milo. I know he is always in good hands

Just moved to area - “books are full” and refused to see a dog in severe pain. Very caring! Had to take sick animal miles to be seen!

Excellent, vets with very kind caring staff . Sadly our cat was very poorly but she and us were treated with care and compassion and respect, we always saw the same vet who was so lovely and kind. The reception staff were lovely too.. would highly recommend this vets

Edit: Dropped a couple stars and their place as my Vets. My last visit was for a vaccine boost and check-up. I was told at this appointment that my cat has some gingivitis and that I should come back in 6 months for a cleaning (which means putting my cat under anaesthesia, who isn't even 2 years old yet). When I asked what could I do at home to help, I was literally told Nothing".I decided to go with my pet parent gut and chose not to accept that as a response

Polite and friendly staff, really nice vet, but the prices they charge couldn't give them 5 stars.

Fantastic front staff, they are really there for you and your pet.Vets are highly qualified and give you true honest advice and I honestly cannot fault them. I have been many time with my daschund, unfortunately, but every time we feel comfort knowing we are on safe hands. Highly Recommend.

Phoned today and they refused to see my cat when she had a urinary tract infection.She'd never been to a vets in a decade, all I wanted was to see a vet for treatmentWhat a horrible establishment and was recommended by familyWill never recommend this vets to anyone

I've signed up for their Puppy Care, very good value. Wonderful staff, the receptionist Ann-Marie was particularly helpful. My puppy was very relaxed

So lovely and helpful made me feel at easy when my cat passed away. Thank you so much
