Alex Burgess Electrical

Alex is excellent. He is reliable, does first class work and is friendly and helpful. Apart from standard electrical work he also does very good lighting layouts and design. My neighbours who used him also thought he is excellent.

We are delighted with the lights Alex put in our garden. All Alex’s suggestions work really well and have transformed the garden at night.

Alex recently re-wired my house. He responded quickly, was personable and took great care in his work. Nice guy, it was a pleasure to have him around the house, and clearly explained everything. Highly recommended, and I would definitely use him again.

Alex is an absolutely first class electrician. He's very smart, incredibly efficient and a real problem solver who will always consult with you to get to the best outcome. He's also a really nice chap!He's punctual, meticulously tidy and his prices are totally fair. I honestly can't recommend him highly enough - I have used him on three separate jobs now, none of them particularly straightforward, and Alex completed them on time, and to the highest standards. I wouldn't hire anyone else!

I can highly recommend Alex's work. He fault found a power issue with my Nest thermostatic heat link and reinstalled a replacement. Great attitude, friendly, prompt, hugely knowledgeable, flexible around our timings, competitively priced, very thorough and talked me through all the work needed before completing. His work was really neat, he cleared up spotlessly after himself, had paperwork completed and sent to be us by the end of the day and conscientiously wore his face mask the entire time. With Alex you get more than just an electrician; you also get an interior designer, an architect, and a very knowledgable DIY adviser. I first engaged with Alex when heavy storms and a leaky roof took out the electrics - Alex was over promptly and did a very thorough assessment of what had caused the electrics to fail, determined where the water had come in from, what the fix would entail and cost, and also advice on how to repair the leak!On the back of that I engaged Alex to re-do the lighting and sockets in our loft extension, as part of a full DIY refit. We involved Alex early in the planning and he gave us great advice on how to use light and shadows to partition a space, make it feel more open and spacious, and not feel like you're in the middle of a stadium under lights! Alex also recommended fittings - both for function and aesthetics - and provided us with a checklist on what to order. Alex accommodated our scattered delivery dates for the items, and was able to turn the installations around very quickly. (In the process I also got advice on how to lay down a floating tongue-and-groove wooden floor!)I cannot recommend Alex highly enough, and will absolutely call on him again when we refit the rest of the house and put in lighting in the garden. A caution though - book early though, Alex is quite sought after and his availability slots do fill up fast - but that can only be a positive thing, right?

Alex Burgess has done numerous jobs for me. I would highly recommend him for his outstanding knowledge and professionalism. He always turned up on time and was well presented. I have always found him happy to share his experience and knowledge on lighting to enhance my property whether that was internally or externally to the point that my house now looks magnificent because of his strategic use of lighting.I was quoted an astronomical amount for a lighting engineer to design and install, which I politely declined. Alex’s ideas exceeded my expectations and quoted at a fraction of the cost of this high end lighting designer.My neighbours were blown away with the results and subsequently used his services.
