Taffeta & Lace

Shocking price for alterations. Paid way too much for a dress that was off the rack anyway but £340 for corset and hem was disgusting. We were totally ripped off by taffeta and lace and I would not recommend this back street shop to any bride.

Got us in very last minute for my daughters prom dress. When I say last minute I mean we turned up in hope they had space. They did say that prom dresses are usually ordered in and bookings are made in advance so I felt lucky to have it sorted. They also did the alterations for us and made us feel welcome. Collecting tomorrow and couldn't be happier.

I went in with an idea of what I thought I wanted. After trying 3 different shapes and styles I ended up choosing a dress that I wouldn't have looked at online. It makes such a difference to go in to the shop and see the beautiful dresses yourself and to have the guidance of Jill. She helped and guided me so much and was incredibly kind and flexible with the ordering process. Thanks to Jill I have my dream dress. Would definitely recommend.

Found my wedding dress here!After some very bad experiences at other shops, this is by far the best.Very friendly and professionally.They were not pushy, the dresses were very high quality and as a size uk16 I was very happy that the dresses I tried could do up.And after I said yes they didn't rush me out of the dress or to get the money.I would highly recommend!

Absolutely awesome. Endless patience and experience. Really listened to my daughter's preferences and acted upon them. Made to feel relaxed and valued. Made lots of suggestions and demonstrated various options. Found the perfect dress. Highly recommended.

My whole experience with Taffeta and Lace was fantastic. From my first appointment when trying on dresses, Kelly was on hand to support and offer expert guidance, picking out a dress for me which matched my ideal style and became the dress I said yes to. The in house seamstress (sorry, I can’t remember her name) was really friendly and reassured me that the dress would be perfect when the length and straps were altered. Taffeta and Lace were very accommodating and were able to make a final amendment to my dress during my final fitting so that I could take the dress home with me on the same day to avoid an extra 2 hour round trip to pick up my dress. Thank you for helping me find my dream dress - I would highly recommend Taffeta and Lace to any future brides!

Welcoming, helpful and with a huge selection. We had a great time choosing for my sisters wedding and the staff made the experience really fun. So knowledgeable and with lots of beautiful dresses to try on. Fantastic experience and highly recommend it!

Worst possible service. Happy to take £250 for our Grandaughters prom dress, ordered according ro THEIR measurements taken in the shop; but not prepared to accept responsibility when it arrived and didn't fit NOR to make the necessary alterations, so we went to a GOOD dress shop to get it altered. Another £90. The excuse was that they are prioritising brides. Strongly advise you to look elsewhere, as they do not understand the concept of customer service and are exploiting non-brides""

Taffeta and lace were amazing in helping me find my perfect dress. They helped guide with certain styles and allowed me to try on a range although we knew straight away the one!The dress needed some alterations and the sizing changed which they ensured was done to the best standard. Nothing was too much! Even customising it by adding on some extra detail and changing the sleeves slightly.Thank you so much, I am so glad you were part of our wedding.
