Really lovely spot! We had a lovely lunch (gf and vegan options available) and delicious cake! To top that off the place does great classes and activities for kids. There is plenty of space and loads of high chairs. We really enjoyed our visit :)

Nice place, tucked away seconds away from the main road. Great place to read and get into a good book. Went to the book reading by the author of Jessica goes swimming". The kids loved the environment

Lovely bookshop/ coffee shop venue. It's quite unique with its large collections of different language books e.g German, French and Italian as well as English.Summer holiday art sessions for kids, too.

Good place to meet up and gain experience chatting to native speakers of most European languages. Once relaxed atmosphere. Easy to reach.

I initially thought this was a nice and welcoming place but it clearly isn't. The woman with the brown hair and the glasses has a real chip on her shoulder. Several weeks ago, their internet was down, my card payment went through on my end only to later decline on theirs, due to their faulty internet. Today I walked in and was confronted about it. Initially the blonde haired woman could not have been more apologetic, at least acknowledging the discrepancy was their fault. Still the brown haired woman demanded a payment. She came charging over and began speaking to me in a very patronising manner and called me a thief when I naturally refused to pay and insisted that I owed them money. She arrogantly slammed a receipt down in front of me urging me to take it home. She then began shouting at me before bizarrely claiming I think I am some kind of hard man and was about to issue some type of threat before I suddenly left. All of this was totally avoidable. It's a shame I believe the place was once popular, now it's always empty and it's easy to understand why. A horrible, abrupt and egotistical manager with an attitude is running it into the ground. An update. The police are nearly obliged to follow up every complaint they recieve irrespective of their level of seriousness. Their involvement does not always signify an accusation is serious. Contrary to what this manager says, the police did speak to me but they never charged me with harassment nor did they even issue me with a warning. No stern words were exchanged. They were very understanding of the situation. I was merely advised by them, following up on the owners request to take my business elsewhere. I found this request very reasonable and have been doing just that. I have no desire to revisit this cafe ever again. There are plenty of other delicious coffee houses in the area where people are treated much better. No wrongful accusations of being a thief. No soap opera dramas. No police called. No angry looks of contempt. No patronising gestures. This is called a google review. In an ideal world it would be nice to always write flattering notes that satisfy a managers outstretched ego. However, we, the, service users, also have every right to note the truth. In this case, I felt my rather unpleasant and traumatic experience visiting this cafe was entirely avoidable and consequently have a duty to inform others to ensure that they are aware of the risks they take upon entering. This was exactly what google reviews was created for.
