I had made an appointment in which I also paid a £40 deposit. Unfortunately I was unable to attend appointment therefore called and cancelled appointment three weeks in advance. I asked for my deposit back and I was refused. Shocking policy. Firstly I was never told upon booking that deposits were non refundable. Secondly the excuse was I had previously not turned up to made appointment in the least. Again no excuse when I gave three weeks notice. We are living in a cost of living crisis. To withhold peoples hard earned money says it all. I was offered to use my £40 for another time but the way it was dealt with I declined that. So they’ve earned £40 for doing absolutely nothing. I’ve now went to another local salon which was the best decisionREPLY as I also mentioned in previous review regardless of previous missed appointment I did everything by the books. Cancelled weeks prior. Plenty of advance. I could understand if I had cancelled last minute. There’s not really an excuse to be honest.

Visited back in July for a cut and colour, attended a consultation with Stuart which was brilliant and feeling confident I would leave with what I requested I booked and my appointment was with Chloe.I discussed having my hair cut to shoulder length with Chloe and she advised to take it slightly shorter so that it didn’t sit on my shoulder and flick out. Based upon her advice I agreed and my hair was cut up to my jawline. Which I wasn’t happy with but ultimately hair grows so it’s a temporary annoyance. However I did state on numerous occasions that I need to be able to tie my hair back and I’m only just able to nearly two months later.I had the front of my hair bleached having discussed with Stuart that I fancied the mallen streak look of white blonde at the front of my hair. What wasn’t explained to me is that to ultimately gain the lift needed to achieve this look is that it would require multiple visits. This would have been fine had I not wanted to change my hair for an event I had the following week, and if it was I could have postponed my hair or rethought the style I was trying to achieve.When having my hair rinsed, I commented to Erin(?) that my scalp was particularly tender and as such she adjusted the temperature of the water to help cool my scalp. Then when Chloe was finalising my cut/drying I also commented on this again with a response of “Yeah bleach can make your scalp tender”.My scalp and forehead were burnt. Granted the full damage didn’t show until the following day but I left the salon with visible redness, only for it to get worse and for the skin to scab over. I had severe chemical burns and no due care was taken when I raised the issue either time. My head and hair was so sore, I couldn’t bare to wash my hair or put a brush through it for another week.When leaving I had made another appointment as I felt embarrassed at the amount of money I’d just spent to leave with a bunch of regrets and a lot of pain. Needless to say I cancelled the following appointment.Additionally, my cut is uneven (something I also pointed out in the salon as there was a part much longer than the rest of my hair) and I’ve had hair breakage on the either side of my face from hair that had no previous chemical treatment until this visit. Which makes me think my hair was over processed.Really disappointed with the results from what I expected to be a luxurious, indulgent visit. I chose not to contact the salon as I was too disheartened and embarrassed to make a phonecall purely for this purpose, but felt feedback is needed.

Have been going here since last year after trying lots of other places. Trendy, clean salon with very friendly staff. Martin does my hair, hes brilliant at colouring, cutting and styling. Having watched other people have their hair done whilst im in i can say all of the sylists are great. Highly recommend!

Need to change my review sorry. Felt disappointed after many years always wanting to go to salon. Girls are lovely don't think there expertise matches there prices. I don't mind paying overthe odds however after a week in a half sitting in another hairdressers chair they couldn't believe that I only had it cut in such a short time.

Good place for great haircuts. I've had the pleasure of having visited more than one hairdresser and all have been lovely, friendly and great. Definitely recommendedShout out to Shannon, great service and very friendly.

First haircut since lockdown and decided to bypass the barbers and pay a little more. Great experience, very friendly staff, modern and comfortable surroundings and a brilliant haircut, don’t think you can really ask for more.Will definitely go back now after the experience.

Extremely disappointing experience, had balayage done by Kirsty after seeing photos on Mesart Instagram page but after spending 4hrs there and £150 came out with a horrible patchy colour with the orange streaks that I had said I didn't want. The foils weren't checked before the bleach was washed off, had they been it could have been left for extra time to lift past the orange. You would expect a good salon/hairdresser which is charging so much to know this. When I pointed out how uneven the end result was, dark brown, orange then blonde at the bottom I got told this was to be expected as my hair was so dark! Funny how they didn't ask to post a pic of my hair up on their page or for a review, obviously knew it had turned out a mess. I was so unhappy with the result that I phoned the next morning to see if I could get it sorted, when I went all that was done was a darker toner got put all over it to cover the orange which it has only done partially it will simply wash back up in a few weeks. I will need to keep putting a darker colour over the top to keep it from showing up which really makes the whole effort to lighten it pointless. Oh and the best part was I got told that the second appointment and toner application was for free"

Booked bleach regrowth and cut for today almost two weeks ago so it would be done for the new year, got a phone call this morning four hours before my appointment asking if I’d had a patch test. Because I haven’t had my hair bleached at their salon before they can’t do it but still offered to do my cut, which is a waste of time because I live 40 mins away and can get my hair cut anywhere, it was the colour I wanted done at the salon. I understand this policy is in place in many hair salons however feel a bit more courtesy could and should be shown to someone who has booked an appointment almost two weeks in advance, and is prepared to pay plenty of money for the pleasure. In my opinion this call should be made when the appointment is booked, if it was done this way I would have been more than happy to visit the salon after work or on a Saturday to get the test done. Disappointed won’t be booking again.

Friendly atmosphere with brilliant stylists that really look after your hair. My hair was in terrible condition after going to another hairdresser in the village and it's now so much better. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I was really pleased this afternoon to see on Mesart's website that they had availability for a late night appointment tonight. I couldn't book a children's appointment online but I could see that they had children's prices so must do child cuts. I was asked by the receptionist if I was a regular customer. I said I had been before but I wasn't a regular. I was shocked (and actually really quite angry) to then be told that they only cut children's hair if the parent is a regular customer so I couldn't her get an appointment. My daughter is an individual in her own right and I was happy to pay whatever price you have set for teenage cuts. You have now lost any potential custom from me (and her) in the future. Not the best policy for customer service or for the growth of your business.
