Friendly professional staff. Probably the cleanest gym in the Redhill and Reigate area. Great amount of equipment considering the size of the gym and if you avoid the evenings your have the gym mostly to yourself. Evening can get crowded but the people are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this gym to all levels trainees. Worth contacting 9f your looking for fitness classes.

I probably should’ve written this along time ago! Anyway, better late than never. Carlson Gracie Surrey is somewhere very close to my heart. I have been training at CG Surrey for almost 3 years now (after transferring from CG Farnborough.) The facilities are brilliant, with possibly one of the biggest mat spaces in the whole of England (outside of Judo academies.) You can choose whether you would like to train for fun, or whether you would like to really understand Jiujitsu back to front, covering every single guard/position in Jiujitsu and have the help to do that from great teachers. There are many successful competitors here, but you will never see any of them displaying Prima donna behaviour that many competitors are notorious for. That of course is down to the fact, that the academy has an excellent leadership, with empathy and professionalism at heart. It is run by good people and attended by good people. The team have helped me not just as a client, but as a friend too. So that you know my view isn’t biased; I try to train once a week at various ‘rival’ academies in London, as it’s an excellent way to prepare for competition. I can safely say that nowhere, not even the most famous in London have anything on CG Surrey. That is because no money can buy you the vision that CG Surrey has. Some London academies have beautiful spaces, but they’re too big to create a one team feel. Others have a lovely atmosphere, but can be tiny, with very little room to spar. One last thing to add, is the high level of Jiujitsu here. Outside of our extremely talented instructors (all black belt, with many accolades) We also have some blue/purple belts here, who are getting towards the technical knowledge of a brown/black belt. I love this, as it just means you’re getting fed excellent knowledge from everyone. The atmosphere is fun. Personally, I find it very difficult to be in a strict traditional martial arts environment, where there is lots of bowing/cultish behaviours. You won’t find that here which I love! This includes the fact, that we must be one of the last academies that doesn’t do the awful American style: “1…2…clap!” After our teacher has shown a move. If you’re reading this and you’re still undecided about trying Jiujitsu for the first time or feel nervous to come along, then please message me or the club personally and someone I’m sure will help you feel more comfortable. We can make sure you get looked after even more so than you would usually, and find someone a similar size to you with more experience to show you the ropes. ❤️

I have trained at Carlson Gracie Surrey for around 8 years and I can honestly say this gym is as friendly as they come, not only is the level extremely high with multiple high level champions the atmosphere is even better. I could not recommend this gym enough.

Been training at Carlson Gracie Surrey for 5 years and as an older member of the team(48) would highly recomend.... all the instructors are black belts of different ages and have different styles.... no one here is going to force you to roll with people who might break you and everyones pretty friendly..

I joined the gym for 5 weeks while I was based in East Surrey. I'm very new to BJJ, but all three of the instructors (Steve, Dave and Sam) were extremely generous with their time and knowledge. All of the other students were very friendly, and there was no ego or hierarchy that I could see.There's also a brand new gym downstairs looked after by Joe, which was absolutely fantastic. I will miss the prowler every day until I'm lucky enough to find such a well equipped gym again.Thanks guys!

When you come to Carlson Gracie Surrey, you will slowly understand you can become a champion in this business. These trainers make you know your potential and if you want high level bjj, wrestling, kickboxing & muay thai this is the best place for it. All trainers are black belts and have a passionate for this sport. So when you come here expect to leave as a lion!

Visited CB Surrey whilst away with work. From the moment I stepped onto the mats I was welcomed and involved. Thank you to Steve and the team for having me! Loved learning new skills in a very clean and accommodating gym. Will definitely return in future!

Amazing place to train, have been here, for 10 years or so. Great,friendly atmosphere, extremely good coaches.I have been to alot of clubs,and in my opinion this is by far my favourite place to train.

Walking into this gym just over a year ago has been one of my best decisions. I've since trained at other clubs (whilst away on holiday or on business) and I can tell you this club is special. Welcoming to all, respect for everyone from white belt to champion black belt. It's fun, friendly, and has no egos - make no mistake they have many high level competitors here who can mix it with the toughest, if you want to go hard with other like minded people you can, but if you just want to have fun and learn something cool you can come here too without fear of being torn apart like a Peshwari naan at a rugby club dinner.
