Rambutan
Food: tried the northern prawn curry and roti, Sri Lankan aubergine moju, Gundu dosa with coriander chutney. The portion sizes are quite small for the price. The food is definitely tasty.Cocktail: Rambutan was okay in flavour. Too pricey i would say.Ambience: was nice. I did realise though that watching food being cooked can make you want to try more food and order them.I have had better Sri Lankan food for more decent price.

Can't fault a thing, staff were friendly and helpful, all the food came out quickly (not too quick) and was amazing. All the flavours were really interesting and delicious and the ambience was really nice. Busy and noisy but not too loud, just lively and fun. Particularly enjoyed the dry pork, and loved the spiced anchovy bread even though it blew my head off. Family particularly enjoyed the yoghurt / grape dish. Will be back asap, highly recommended.

Unique tastes with multiple layers that hit the spot. Servings were small and need to order many dishes to feel full, so the price adds up. Server kept wanting to take our plates away even though the plates were not empty and we were still eating - that’s downright rude. At least the food was good.

To say this place is divine and unique is an understatement. Every dish has layers of personality — I felt like I was going on a treasure hunt … and loving every single bite!I love the food so much that I bought a cookbook for myself, and two more as gifts!

Probably the best Sri Lankan food we've had in London. Booked a month in advance and it did not disappoint.Standout dishes were the Dry Pork Curry and the Mutton Chops. Recommend eating these with the rotis which were soft and fluffy.Other dishes such as the Prawn curry and the pongal were of a decent standard.Only minor quibble might be the priciness. It's £60/person. Not cheap but definitely worth a visit.

The food was okay overall, with some dishes being good (aubergine moju, grilled chicken, and roti) but with others not being up to the standards or taste that I would expect as a Sri Lankan (calamari, mutton chops, pork, and parippu) - the main issue was the size of the dishes. I think the portions were too small relative to the pricing (£40 per person for a group of 8) and that's what really brings down my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars (overall and for food). Drinks were okay. The service was good but we were slightly rushed to order and also encouraged to order more dishes when we thought we had ordered enough. The atmosphere was nice - loved the interior and the open plan kitchen.

Food portion size is very small but each dish is packed of flavours, good for trying out a little bit of everything but don’t expect to feel full unless you order a lot.Cocktails are average with artificial fruit flavours. I would go somewhere else for drinks.Service wise, first round of food came fast but we waited 40+ minutes for just rice & roti - imagine eating curries on its own. When we eventually have rest of the order, they rushed us out after 15 minutes whilst we were still eating. We are not slow eaters anyway but for them to kick us out that soon, especially when it’s their fault, is quite rude. There are many other South East Asian restaurants with much better service and value for a more enjoyable experience.

Rambutan
Completely blew away any (already high!) expectations - brilliant restaurant. Nuanced flavours that you won't find elsewhere. We were guided by the excellent staff as what to order, with each dish better than the next - so delicious. Good wine list that really complements the menu. Extra special thanks to the front of house team for managing our booking. Really looking forward to going back soon!

My partner and I had a delightful lunch experience at Rambutan, primarily indulging in their vegetarian offerings. We began with a shared starter, the Charred Black Muscat Grape and Curry Leaf Pachadi, which was particularly memorable. After some consideration, we opted for the Delica Pumpkin Curry over the Pineapple with Mustard Seed variant. The pumpkin curry's deep flavors and gently spiced sauce were a delight. Alongside, we had White Samba Rice and Butter Roti. The Roti is recommendable. My partner tried the Slow Grilled Red Mullet with Gorka Puli and Lime Pickle, which was impressively sized and expertly prepared. Additionally, we tasted the Fried Chickpea with Coconut and Parsley Sambol, offering a spicy kick from the Indonesian Chilli Sauce. For dessert, the only choice available was the Watalappam Soft Serve Ice Cream, uniquely enhanced with Cashew Brittle. The restaurant's ambiance was calming, complemented by a friendly vibe and staff. I'm eagerly looking forward to our next visit!
