Only been to the Donkey once. Had a great night. Good selection of beer etc,large outside seating area.

The venue is a lot smaller than expected with a big stage which is an awkward shape.There is also a huge pillar directly in front of the stage which obscures your view.Drinks prices are reasonable for a music venue but the folk behind the bar need to cheer up a bit.There was no draught beer, no ice & soft drinks came out of a plastic bottle.The sound was OK and there is ample street parking by nearby Victoria Park if you cannot access the small venue car park.Leicester now has a lot of small venues. This one has a very nice beer garden where they run summer gigs.OK for a one off visit, but if its a sell out gig I would think getting a good vantage point if late might be difficult.

I'm in donkey 28 10 23 ,for reggae dj,zebbie his new records out called 1-2 1-2 ,ITS A JOKE 7.30 START ,9PM N HE STILL HAVING TROUBLE WITH HIS SYSTEM !! No music lol

Fantastic band called Dust & Debris played to a packed house and did two 50 minute sets of blue grass & Americana style music. First time in this small & intimate venue with the band almost in touching distance. Great show, super place.

Visited on a Sunday for the free gig.Absolutely lovely vibe, great service and plenty of alcohol free options.Great turn out for the gig aswell which is always nice to see!Highly recommend

Every time we've been to the Donkey to watch live music, we've always come out of the place feeling yet another great night, look the Donkey is not the Ritz but venue and the bands that play there make for a great night out.
