Glenshane Country House '5 Star'

We did not stay here but stopped as part of our Wolfhound Adventure Tour to view Jamese's dogs herding his sheep. Jamese is an excellent host and had everything we needed to be comfortable from the time we left the van until the time we reboarded. I appreciated the fact that there were two women's restrooms to the one men's. There was tea and coffee available and biscuits. Jamese told a wonderful story about how he acquired his shepherd's stick and then he gave background information on his dogs and put them to work. There was an opportunity for audience participation in herding the sheep into a pen. The best part, by far, was being able to hold a one-week-old sheep. The highlight of my trip! Thanks, Jamese!

Comfortable and welcoming

A big thank you to Jamese McCloy, his family, Tess, Moss and the gang for sharing the amazing hard work that goes into your beautiful farm. Watching you work with the dogs via their individual unique commands in the most picturesque setting was a highlight of my Ireland trip. Your love and passion for what you do is evident! I know why the man on the other side of the Sperrin Mountians made your shepherds staff. I would recommend this unique experience to anyone!Next time I come to Ireland, I need to stay a night!

When traveling through Northern Ireland, one must include a stop at Jamese’s farm, and even better, reserve his beautiful self-catering holiday home. Off the beaten tourist path, his land, animals and generous hospitality will show you how magical this part of the world truly is. The house is located next to Jamese’s farm, Glenshane, with peaceful green pastures of baby lambs calling out their mothers. The views from the spacious windows look out in all directions across the gorgeous, pastoral landscape. Walks from the house took us along quiet, lush country roads and just a few minutes by car, more trekking awaits, with just sheep and birds along the the way. The house itself was so well equipped, with every amenity one can expect from a luxury vacation rental. The spacious kitchen was stocked with necessities, not to mention a bountiful welcome basket of delicious bread, cereal, cheese and snacks. Our favorites of the house were the very comfortable beds and awesome shower. Having a laundry machine and dryer was a major plus too. We feel so fortunate to have found Jamese, his holiday rental, and lovely Glenshane, as it was truly a travel highlight and definitely somewhere we intend to return.

The hospitality of the host is outstanding, attention to detail goes above and beyond any expectation. Super communication and hosts were ever so thoughtful to our needs as a large family group.The house is immaculately clean and well presented aswell as very child friendly. Fabulous location, would highly recommend and hope to be back again very soon.

Great house very peaceful location and very friendly hosts

WOW! We just stayed at Glenshane this April (2019) and can't say enough good things. Gorgeous, spacious, impeccable home in the scenic countryside. We stayed here as a family with two small children — and could easily have fit two more families! The location is a short drive to town and makes for an easy day trip up the Antrim coast or into Belfast. The hosts are so incredibly kind and accommodating. They own the sheep farm next door! I'd say this ideal for any occasion from a family holiday to a girls' weekend. Bonus: Ask Katie for a travel cot if you're bring a baby or toddler along.

Three generations of our family stayed in this beautiful house it is perfect for all ages has everything you would need and more so peaceful and relaxing and not to far if you would like to drive to A town we visited the farm During our stay My daughter will remember this forever Thankyou so much the weekend was perfect just perfect

Amazing house with and amazing view! Had a very good weekend away 8 friends for a staycation and we will definitely be back.Jamese so nice and even had a little welcome basket with eggs, milk, cereal etcFarm is so nice, you are on within walking distance of jamese house and his parents however you have the entire house to yourself and no issues you actually forget they are there.Thank you for the amazing weekend and hope to stay again! 5 star all round
