Vets4Pets Ashton Under Lyne

Following the hard decision that me and the vet had to make to put my cat down I received this in the post which is one of the reasons I highly recommend vets4pets as they do not have to do anything like this but shows that they do care and made me feel listened too and cared for by them I am so grateful that my other cats are with them and I will always go with vets4pets they are a thoughtful!!! updating my review as my opinion has changed.before our last experience, we had always had good experiences. the vets were nice, the reception ladies were lovely, etc.but then, in may i noticed my beautiful kitten angel was lethargic. she was sleeping more and grooming less, i booked her an appointment because i was extremely worried & the vet told me that she seemed to just have an infection from a potential blockage. he said that she had a temperature and to keep her cool. he gave her antibiotics and an anti inflammatory medicine and sent us on our way - he gave no indication that our baby girl was seriously unwell.the morning after, we woke up and angel could not walk. it was a sunday so vets4pets was closed so we rushed her to the emergency vets (vetsnow) that vets4pets is partnered with. they told us that she was too cold and to keep her warm (?complete opposite of what we were told the day prior?) but other than that, they didn’t know. they said to maybe take her off the medication & get blood tests at the usual vet the next day. we took her home & i stayed up with her to closely monitor her behaviour.the next day, we took her in for blood tests. a different vet then told us that she was in critical condition and said that she might have FIP. she gave us two options - euthanasia then and there, or we could pay over £2000 to send her to the overnight vets. we chose to just take her home instead and nurture her there instead.on the 17th may at approx 11AM, our sweet baby girl gained her wings and flew away to heaven. i fear that this could have been prevented if the vet had spotted something was wrong during the first appointment, just days before. i do not believe that Angel had FIP. i do believe that she could still be alive today if we had switched vets sooner. sleep tight angel-cake, i miss you so much.

This is a great vets practice. In my experience the vets have gone into great detail to resolve any and all issues that come up.However, because of this they are exceptionally busy and I feel that this causes some difficulties with scheduling in appointments and followup appointments.

Called for advice on neuturing. The lady was in a rush to get off the phone. She said if we had questions we'd need a consultation with the nurse! 2 dogs at £49 each just to ask a few questions before the OP! Awful...weve had it done at anothers vets who didn't charge penny to discuss the op before it was done! Cant recommend vets for pets I'm afraid...more like profit before pets! Sorry team you've let us down and lost our business too!!!☹☹☹

Took one of our cats in today for a check up as she'd been behaving differently.Liggy-Mae was brilliant with Pixie and I really appreciated the love and care she put into the check. Pixie is usually very grumpy but didn't hiss once (which is a big deal). All the staff were fab and I'm glad we registered here!

Really nice vet who was thoughtful and considerate towards our 8 week old puppy

Always brought my 2 male cats here since being kittens, both vets and nurses have seen to my two boys and each time they have been treated amazing, respectful and I trust them with any sort off care with my animals.They are very polite and always put my mind to rest with any concerns.Most recently the cats got nuetured and they was handled with the upmost respect and care.I find the prices so far good to what other vets may charged I got quoted 240 off one vet practice here it was around 147 pounds for the both to be done, and miceochipped free as on the kitten plan.Thankyou so much and will continue to bring them here for anymore treatments they need.

The male vet explained to me I had a very sick cat and gave me options what to do and the course of action. He was understanding and explained everything perfectly after I accepted her to have a blood test, the outcome was my decision to allow Minnie to be in pain no more for which I will always be grateful, I accepted she was ill and nothing more could be done in the long term. Although I miss her so much, I will always remember her and her loving ways. Also I received the card of condolences which was such a nice touch and that her passing was not just felt by me and my partner but meant something as well to the vets who took care of her. Thank you.

Lewis and the team have looked after our furbabies for a while now and we wouldn’t use any other vets. When we had to have our elderly cat put to sleep a couple of years ago, the staff showed such compassion and understanding at such a stressful, emotional time. Our dog is having ongoing health issues but we are always given the right advice and Lewis is honest and caring and we know that our dog will have the right treatment without being ripped off! All the staff from Reception Staff, Veterinary Nurses and Vets are professional, caring and offer advice and reassurance when it’s needed the most. I have experienced other Vet Practices where this isn’t always the case but Ashton Vets4Pets has exceeded my expectations.
