Pettycur Bay Holiday Park
Have to say really disappointed with the tourer facilities. Tiny pitches on a slope so very difficult to manoeuvre. No water hook up. Toilet block not nice. Basically drove in, tried to park caravan, failed and left. Did not use any of the main facilities so unable yo comment on those

Place might look good on TV.Wait until you go in for a swim , changing area is a disgrace , absolutely filthy .The pool has a smell which means it obviously isn't getting treated properly .

Phoned in advance for spaces. Said they had a few. When we arrived there was no one at reception. Had to ask at bar. Which took 10min because they were busy. Got key for toilets £20 deposit. The motorhome spaces were tight and just enough room to fit 6.3m MH in. Were not level with leveller on both sides.Toilets were defo not up to much.Showers far to hot for adults never mind kids.Had no hose to fill up water tank. For £28 one night I will defo go somewhere else nxt time.

Some great aspects; some really poor, which unfortunately let the place down as a whole. Felt to me like the poor aspects wouldn't take much to fix/improve, so suggests to me a lack of care and attention from management.Things that were great: view, caravan space/layout/design/cleanliness, restaurant layout/decor/food quality (for the most part). There was no guide or information about the caravan or park itself provided at check-in or in the caravan. We got the key and a map to our caravan and that was it. We felt it would have enhanced the experience if an info sheet/booklet was provided - how to get to the beach, how to use the heating, where the fuse box is (electric tripped a couple of times and had ask reception), info on swimming/soft play etc - particularly as our Internet signal wasn't great. We were disappointed the facilities weren't included in the cost. Having paid hundreds of pounds for the group to stay, it felt a bit stingy/unnecessary having to shell out a few quid each time we used the swimming/soft play.On the facilities, we felt they were mostly lacking. The arcade/soft play/snooker room look like they were installed in 1995 and haven't been updated since. They were clean/tidy, but that appeared to be the extent of the maintenance over the years. The snooker and pool tables were borderline unusable and the staff said when we asked for cues that there was no chalk. Judging by the state of the cues he offered, there hadn't been chalk for some time. Again, so easy to put that right. Disappointing.Final issue for us was the general customer service on show from the staff. One or two on the reception and in the restaurant were friendly/helpful but most weren't. A couple in particular were the complete opposite. The information on the website and menus said kids meals were served all day at the lounge bar and restaurant. On the last day we were sitting in the lounge bar having drinks after swimming and I went up to order a kids meal for my 2 year old daughter - at around 6pm. I was first of all asked to take a step back with a child at the bar (despite kids running around all day, every day in the area) then told they weren't serving kids meals at the lounge bar side. I questioned this and the suggestion was that if we were in the restaurant (a few feet the other side of the bar) or getting it as a takeaway, the kitchen would make it - but not at the lounge bar. I questioned the logic in this and, after consulting the kitchen, was told that it would in fact be permitted. No apology, no explanation, just straight to the till for payment. That incident in particular left a bad taste, at the end of a mostly enjoyable few days. Like I say, it wouldn't take much to put right - some customer service training/extra resource of the staff, some TLC on the facilities, a few enhancements here and there i.e. local info and guide - and the whole experience would have improved. Judging by the reviews, I'm not alone, so wonder why park management don't put things right?

Stayed here for a week in a five-star executive caravan. The caravan itself didn't disappoint. It was clean and well equipped with a stunning view across the River Forth towards Edinburgh. The on-site restaurant and bar were excellent, and staff were friendly with the menu having something for everyone. The only negative note was that the swimming pool was an additional charge. Would recommend this site to anyone and would consider purchasing a caravan.

Our 3 star caravan was modern and clean apart from some Crisps under one of the beds. No electric kettle/toaster/iron/clothes drier/hairdryer which is normally standard in any caravan I have been to. There was a nice welcome box with a dish towel, liquid, sponge incase u had forgotten them. No instructions or welcome pack supplied about the local area which would have been nice. When we checked in we were handed keys 1 of which we still don't know what it was for, no details supplied re WiFi. We paid £350 for 3 nights and were astonished to find that we were expected to pay for the swimming, soft play and some entertainment like £3 per child for daytime entertainment. I have never experienced these charges at parkdean or haven parks. The swimming pool has 1 hot and 1 cold shower in the main pool area and no hairdryers. It was extra to use the steam room/sauna the pool had nothing for the kids like games, floats, water jets and was quite grubby with tiles missing and alot of hair floating in the pool. The view from the caravan was lovely as was the view from the restaurant. We only managed to book a table in the restaurant once and it was with a high tea limited menu. I think this is open to the public and was booked for the other 2 nights of our stay. I think people staying here should be given priority. There were no takeaways available when asked due to being overbooked. The food was nice and fresh but service was slow and lacking friendly chat that you would expect in a family run holiday park. The amusement area was very small and dated with the machines always breaking, pool cues were old and the tables were in a locked room that the life guard had to give u access to. This is an honest review, we had been attracted to the park after seeing the programme and to be honest expected more. We feel we made the most of our time but had to travel quite a bit to find much to do.

Caravan was in a good location, Stunning view of the cruise ships, beach and planes landing in the airport. Shop was shut most days and you have to book the restaurant, but there is no signs instructing to do so. Overall, relaxing stay. Swimming pool is good for a midday swim. Will be visiting again.

Had the most amazing night here. It's called a caravan park but I haven't seen anything like this before. Everything 5 star! Location, staff, food. Simply brilliant. I would highly recommend and will be back for sure.
