Dad and i love this garden centre.Small and friendly but always find what we want.Such a wonderful memorial in the car park for the cat that they cared for there for 14 years. That says alot about the staff and manager in my reckoning !

On behalf of the St Stephens Parents Association I would like to say huge thank you to the store manager Andrew and the Thamson’s Garden Centre for donating some plants for the summer fair. The plants stall was one of the biggest earners at the event, helping us raise much needed funding for a new school playground

I've bought several plants at considerable cost from here and the most charitable description of their wares is iffy. The Mahonia is doing ok; the chocolate cosmos never even came up! What's noticeable is the unpleasantness of its staff – I've never had anyone smile or be welcoming. Today, we had a particularly ugly experience, which had us leave without buying a £59.99 cotoneaster. We noticed it had three broken branches that hung limply. As one of the branches was at the highest point, its coming off would alter the shape a bit. There seemed no harm asking if they would make a bit of a consideration on price. So we did and one of the staff unsmilingly clipped off the branches and led us to the manager, a grim man, who looked disbelieving and insisted the branches hadn't been broken this morning". I said I wasn't lying? "That doesn't matter

Lovely , thank goodness garden centres opened this lock down , bought a giant tulip (metal), half price and a couple of little plants ready for the garden now . This thompsons happens to be next to shooters hill farm and the equestrian centre so couple of horses greeted us as we entered lovely morning just having a stroll around . Bit tricky getting giant tulip home on bus though .

As a beginner to the gardening world, garden centres seemed very daunting. However the staff at Thompsons are some of the loveliest people I have ever met and helped ease me into the world of home grown vegetables without getting annoyed at my basic questions. I can't wait to return. Their use of creative flower displays really spoke to my inner designer and I had so many ideas for my first garden...I hope I have all the space. If you're a person who just prefers to browse there is an abundance of really useful information in poster form.

The Garden Centre is full of seasonal plants now. Variety of options to choose from. It got bird baths, plants of every kind, seeds of different producer, gardening tools, indoor plants, bird food and so on. Though the birds items looked a bit pricey to me. The indoor plants collect is small but they are of rare race and good quality. There are pots of different kinds and sizes. There is enough parking space. Also easily accessible by bus. Hope you can find what you need.

Been to this garden centre a few times , has ample free parking and nice friendly staff . They stock a wide variety of different plants , plus lots of pots , ornaments garden furniture and all things garden orientated . I think they are a little pricey , but the plants are good quality , and last year on year , so in real terms value for money . I would definitely recommend a visit .

Situated on the east side of Shooters Hill, this is a convenient garden centre where you can buy all sorts of items from Christmas trees to gnomes to perennials and annuals. Set out over quite a large area, there seems to be plenty of space for a good variety of gardening essentials. It's not the cheapest of places, but it is convenient. The car park has plenty of spaces but may be quite full at busy times. Well worth a visit whether you need something specific or you are simply looking to browse.
