Incredibly rude staff.Checked Google, County Goldsmith’s website, and other opening hours online to see the Shrewsbury store closes at precisely 17:30.First attempt to get there on time, I arrived at 17:29. Handful of employees inside. All five looked at me and then turned their backs. A small gesture or a “sorry, we’re closed” would have been polite. Then they decided to switch off the lights before 17:30, as if to tell me to leave. Whilst it was still technically within the “open” times, I shrugged this encounter off due to it being so near to closing time and can appreciate employees want to get home.Next day, I specifically took time off work to get there earlier. I arrived just after 17:00 to find the doors closed again (with the keys still hanging from the lock) … employees inside, lights on. Tried both doors but neither were open. Upon walking round to the original locked door I tried, one of the employees removed the key from the lock (internally), looked at me, and walked away. I found this to be very rude, especially since no-one took the effort to speak with me to tell me they close at 17;00, even though online it clearly states they do not. If the store is closed (ie. The doors are locked) at 17:00, then this ought to be advertised everywhere online, especially the website.I knew exactly what I wanted, and was completely confident I would have spent not 10 minutes browsing, and then have left.Regardless if a store is open or closed - to be stared at and ignored - I found this to be plain rude.Frustrated, as I’ve rushed around, took time off work, spent money on parking and stressed beyond belief.

I visited the store on the recommendation of another family member who was happy with the quality and service. I was also impressed with the store and staff. All polite and friendly although I dealt with Marilyn (Mal) - she was patient and helpful with her advice. Very happy with my purchase of 2 items :o) I would return and also recommend!

I purchaseda ring from them 6 months ago for £960 Victorian with semi pres stones. Today I had it valued for insurance, I couldn't believe it £165. I believe in profit but this was a straight rip-off ĺ

Recently had my mothers watch repaired at the shop in Shrewsbury and the service and repair was second to none. Polite, professional and excellent value.

Visited today (01/12/2023) and was greeted by Marilyn (Mal). She helped me pick out the most timeless 1930’s Old Cut Diamond (as I was specifically after an old cut). She really is an asset to your store.Steve, who was also lovely helped with finalising the purchase. My husband bought a Rolex back in the Summer from Steve and the service then, just like today was great. We were a walk in with our 1 year old boy who has been teething and the staff was fantastic with him; letting him play with the ring sizers, keys and generally walk around the shop.I saw a lovely brooch that I knew my mum would like and was gifted this as a way of a discount off my ring. This was such a lovely kind gesture. The ring was also resized for me and polished to take home on the very same day ! All it took was a little 1 hour wander around town.I love old, antique/secondhand jewellery and there are very few shops like this about in the County unless you are willing to travel to Birmingham Jewellery Quarter. Some pieces are maybe on the pricey side compared to a couple of stores I follow. However, the fact you are willing to deduct money off where possible more than makes up for this.As a ‘run of the mill couple’ with our kid, It was lovely to be treated and dealt with the upmost respect .Maybe visit again in the near future … my lovely ring could do with some matching earrings :)

We visited your new store on Pride Hill, Shrewsbury, and was badly greeted by an old man on the counter. He was incredibly rude towards my belongings that I had asked him to value. He didn’t even have the time to look at my items properly ( even though your shop was as quiet as a mouse all day) and said they’re “charity shop worthy” & “ whoever owned them, didn’t have good taste with jewellery”.I don’t even know how he still has a job with you, considering your new shop has only been open 6 weeks it will not stay open with his customer service skills.I then took a trip to a shop over the road and managed to get over £750 for the same items and was treated with respect. I dread to think the business you have missed out on with him working for you. Terrible experience.

We were a walk-in drama, my 13 yr old daughter had knotted her gold bracelet and we were asked to have a quick wander round town and returned some 10 minutes later to a very clean, shiny and un-knotted bracelet, fixed on the house. The chap in the store informed my daughter to make sure she kept her bracelet done up to avoid such drama in future and we both came away happy customers. Thank you so much.
