We used to come here when the kids where small , now in thier 40s . We came by last sat afternoon and it was lovely to see it being well used by all. The only thing we didn't like was the jet ski's coming in where all the kids where playing and swimming in the water.

There is a lovely coastal walk from Hope Cove just over 1m. There is a lovely cafe/wooden shack at the end that does a great Fisher Burger and local beer in cans. They also do lobster when in season.

Portnockie is inland from lots of large rock formations, like Bow Fiddle Rock at the other end of the village. The harbour is built into a gap in the rocks and has harbour walls around it. Inside the harbour is an open air swimming pool, that looked like it was more of a paddling pool. When we visited, there were a couple of children in the open air pool and a family at the harbour opening, trying to catch crabs. It's a nice little place.

A great place for everyone. A lovely well maintained paddling pool for the kids plus plenty opportunities for water sports. Very close to the famous Bow Fiddle Rock where you can wander to take photos and watch the bird life and dolphins.

It's very pretty, it's got an outdoor swimming pool which looks really inviting. It's a steep road down to it, so not everyone can get to it, but it can be viewed in full from above.

Beautiful small harbour. Great for kids. Hardly any beach at hightide though so check tide times. Public toilets. Lovely for a walk.

A picturesque fishing harbour with, alas, few working boats these days. The breakwater is pretty good for shore fishing. It is very exposed though and shouldn’t be accessed during a northerly blow. In summer you can safely spend a few hours trying to catch a variety of species, the most common being immature saithe (coalfish). Ling and wrasse are there too, and plenty of mackerel in summer. Conger down the harbour walls after dark. Dabs over the cleaner ground on the landward side of the breakwater.
