Stopped in today for some lunch. It was good to see how efficiently they were taking their covid rules! We were met at the door and had to scan the QR code to check in, then had to download the Greenking app before being taken to a table!Unfortunately the food left a sour note hence the 2 star review. One of our items was the toasted cheese and ham sandwich.. the first time it came it was clearly missing the ham! After finding a member of staff and showing them, they apologized and took it away. After a few more minutes it came back again and was clearly the same sandwich with a few bits of ham put inside. As it was the same sandwich it came back to us cold and very unappealing!!Sure, a lunch item just under £7 won't be the best food in the world, but you'd expect something that at least looked edible and had.some taste to it!

i enjoyed it here so much i wanted to review it somewhere else too. just a perfect afternoon sat in the sun eating tasty small plates and enjoying a 2 4 1 deal on drinks. music was great, staff were friendly and all in all it was just a pleasure to visit. perfect everytime!

Impressive pub with friendly staff and good food. Lots of TVs to watch different sporting events, including Rugby League.The music on the playlist is very diverse, and the Anchor Hotel plays a good mix of songs which I really like.Friends recommended I visit the Anchor Hotel and try a Sunday roast dinner. I was not disappointed.In the past there has been a two-for-one offer in the week between 4-7pm. I wish GreeneKing would bring back this offer, because this would make me visit more!!!

What a place! Victorian fascia with a funky colourful interior, i wish this place was my front room, cool but unpretentious! This is an ale-mans dream bar. plenty of choice, guest ales, and once a barrel is sold its replaced by something else entirely, each night session here need not taste the same ever again! This is a must visit bar even if its just for a quick pint and a look around. Not to be missed

Great place for a drink and a evening meal. Food was cooked to perfection, and staff very friendly! Highly recommended!
