I requested this company's service to fix an aerial. Tom, the owner " claimed to have excellent reviews (even though I can't find any). Tom did turn up at the property and unfortunately he couldn't fix the problem and we agreed that he would return the next day with the parts he needed.Waited all day with no news. I managed to get hold of Tom

We booked a tv installation with a large company, who subcontracted the job with Melville Aerials. On the evening before the job, we received a confirmation text that Tom the engineer would arrive between 10:30 and 12:30. At 12:00, Tom got in contact and said he would be there at 12:30. A few minutes later, he called back and tried to rearrange for the next day, which we weren’t able to do, so he said he would come for 2pm because he had a dentist appointment. At 2:00pm, he said he would be there in twenty minutes. He finally arrived at 2:45, after having expected him between 10:30 and 12:30 and rearranged appointments to accommodate the later time. He also said that the company had given him the wrong postcode, but I later confirmed the postcode with them and they had the right one, so he lied about this. Tom said he was unable to do the job because it was the wrong type of wall (we had an engineer from a neighbour’s company out the same day after he left, who confirmed the job was possible, and we also confirmed with the company that we had booked the correct service for our type of wall). In trying to figure out a plan, I asked him to describe the issue on the phone to my husband. He became irate on the phone with my husband, and on hanging up, he proceeded to shout at me in a verbally aggressive manner. I asked him to lower his voice because my baby was sleeping in the next room, but he continued to shout at me. Whatever skills he has as a tradesman (which are highly doubtful as he did not do the job he was booked to do), “owner” Tom has zero communication skills. Bring shouted at by a tradesperson in my own bedroom was a pretty horrible experience. Avoid avoid avoid this horrible company and lying engineer.

Tom came to wall mount 2 tvs for my elderly parents. He was very efficient and caring. He came out on his day off as my father was discharged from hospital that day and we wanted to have a little suprise for him. He was very understanding and acomodating. He tidied up after himself it was a great service I would highly recommend

Tom did the following jobs:* Removed 43 TV from wall bracket in living room* Mounted a 43" TV in bedroom (Tom provided wall bracket)* Installed a TV aerial in bedroom* Placed 50" TV on wall bracket in living room* Plastered bedroom wallThis came to a whopping £500. Being gullible and naive

I chose this company from Trust-A-Trader in August as I had just moved into a new house and the tv wasn’t picking up many terrestrial channels. If I’d looked at these reviews, I would have gone elsewhere. If you want a man who can tell you about all the famous people whose aerials he has installed, then call Tom at Melville Aerials. However, if you want a tradesman who knows what he is doing and does a decent job, then choose someone else.He was at my house for hours. He went up the attic and said I had a good aerial, and then spend ages tracing and rerouting cables, and re-trying the installation, saying that this time it would work. It didn’t. Eventually he went back up the attic and actually tested the aerial to find out that it wasn’t working at all. You’d think he would have tested that first!Anyway, he put in a new aerial and charged me for that. Still wasn’t picking up all the channels but more than I had before. He had a football match to go to and I was bored with having him there so I paid. It wasn’t until later that I discovered a socket hanging off the wall, he had stapled an unnecessary cable directly through my internet cable on the skirting board, and the one channel I originally asked for was not there.Tried a few times to get him back to no avail. I contacted Trust A Trader and, after they had contacted him a number of times (he had a family emergency, was isolating with Covid, etc) he agreed to come out at 9am on a Saturday morning (about three months after the initial installation). Surprisingly, he did not turn up. I texted him at 11am and he said he had asked an engineer to come out. He had no idea why he hadn’t. I had to contact Trust A Trader again and they came back to say he would arrange to come back out but charge me another £50! I’ve wasted enough time and money on this ‘trader’. DO NOT EMPLOY THIS GUY UNLESS YOU HAVE LOADS OF TIME AND MONEY TO WASTE AND EXTREMELY LOW STANDARDS!
