Antiques At The George

Large antique shop on High Street in Burford with a wide variety of items to browse. When I entered I took off my backpack so as not to accidentally knock into something and I was given a suspicious look. Went back Christmas Eve and purchased a few prints, including two matted Louis Wain illustrations at a reasonable price. Worth your visit.

We visited Antiques at the George and witnessed a rather rude man who works there.A customer had evidently taken a picture of an item in the shop. The man was verbally discourteous to the customer and continued to verbally abuse him when all the time the customer was apologising. Needless to say we felt uncomfortable and left the shop promptly. Cameras are used commonplace these days whether rightly or wrongly, maybe Antiques at the George should display signs to clear up any confusion in the future.

Plenty of interesting antiques on different levels.

Great owners, good prices, I can't understand how people add bad comments

Lovely little antique shop right on the high street. Friendly and knowledgeable staff let you browse at leisure.

Wonderful antique shop in Burford.A fantastic antique shop over four floors complete with working log burner, with such lovely items from vogue magazine covers to amazing old coins. I bought a real mix of lovely items as shown in the photos. We also purchased a beautiful coin over 2000 years old, photo not supplied.I think this is one of the best antique shops I’ve been to.We both loved looking around at the wonderful array of treasures. Everything was clean and nicely presented and more importantly so reasonably priced, unlike most antique shops I’ve visited.Micheal was so lovely and so knowledgeable. We ended up going back the following day to buy a couple more items and met Amanda who was so nice couldn’t be more helpful.Just wished we lived closer to this little gem.We will be back hopefully one day soon.Esther and Graham xx
