Seven Leurbost is a wonderful cottage with Hebridean character, rustic Scottish charm, peace and tranquility in abundance. It's an exact antidote to city and big town life.I head there to get off the email trail, avoid the plague of constant notifications and find myself in a place where you're reminded that the little things mean more and where the brain can rest in calm and quiet surroundings.It's very comfortable for two but can take four people if two are happy to sleep on the sofa bed. The cooking essentials are there and a short trip up to the supermarket in Stornoway means you're able to stock up as you need without bringing a car full of food.As a location, it's great to stay-in and get through those books you'd been meaning to read or just venture out and walk round the loch shores. On colder days, the stove warms up quickly with logs and coal.You can drive to Stornoway port in about 10-15 minutes or 30-35 minutes to get to the boat on the Isle of Harris (Tarbert port). Car can be parked right outside. Don't forget you need to arrive at the Ferry terminal about an hour in advance of your departure!Accessing the rest of the connected towns, villages, beaches and various points of 'tourist' interest are all easy enough by car or bike and rewarded by breathtaking scenery and plentiful photo stops.I could go on, and in to a lot more detail, but I'll leave that to you to head here and write your own story.Seven Leurbost is a special old cottage and is one of my favourite places to stay, and nestled in some of the best and true parts of Scotland to visit.
