Ice Store
The Ice House is a hidden & hermetic, grilled dungeon-like excavation, believed to have been excavated in 1735. It was once used for storing ice taken from the nearby Round Pond. It's actually a Grade2 listed structure, but very easily overlooked & missed because of its location within a dip in the ground, (despite being sited between 2 of the busiest paths in Christchurch Park, not far from the public toilet block & Reg Driver Centre). It's actually quite an extensive structure, the visible entrance leading into a domed icehouse. Wintertime ice would have been stored inside for use in Christchurch Mansion throughout the year.

No ice but a nice little spooky spot.
