Vince at Colwood Wheel Works is highly recommended - a gentleman and a master at his craft.I've owned a mystery Raleigh bicycle for the past 20 or so years and it was used during my uni days (many moons ago). I always knew it was old, although until having done a deep dive on it, I discovered it was 86 years old.There were a few mechanical problems with the bike dating back to when I bought it, mostly around the Sturmey-Archer gear hub. These issues got worse over time, to the extent where is was no longer road worthy. Much of this was most probably from years of use and and poor maintenance (my own included!).Vince did a stunning job, taking the Sturmey-Archer apart, fully servicing it and replacing broken/ worn parts with like for like (which have not been in production since war time), bearings, breaks...well pretty much everything. Outcome is that it is a mechanically sound bike and a piece of heritage restored.Many bike rides with my young daughter have been happening since getting the bike back...with that touch of nostalgia attached. Thanks a million Vince! Highly recommended.

I just needed a service for my Mountain Bike to make sure it was road-safe. Vince is one of the most helpful and friendly bike restorers you could meet. Although Mountain Bikes are not his speciality he took on the job without hesitation. This man is now the 'go to' guy for bike issues for me! Was happy to give me helpful tips for running maintenance. Would recommend him to anyone.

Vince did a superb bespoke job in converting my unreliable Sturmey Archer 5 speed hub to a new rotary shift 3-speed. Great service and workmanship, I highly recommend.

Incredible, what a man, worked with all the care and attention I needed to see on my 1940’s Sunbeam as though he loved her as much as I do.
