The Electric Cinema
My first visit here. Very friendly and helpful staff. The screen I went to seemed to be a small and cosy place, but counting up, there were in fact about 100 seats, so credit to them for that. Seats were comfortable, service was friendly, screen was clear and everything ran smoothly. I will certainly return soon. -- I've been back twice and it's been a joy twice more.

Visited the electric twice last week, the atmosphere in the cinema is relaxed, the staff are lovely and accommodating and the cocktails were delicious x

The screen was perfectly sized, providing an immersive movie-watching experience. The selection of films was diverse, catering to all tastes, from the latest blockbusters to timeless classics and obscure independent films.Furthermore, their refreshment offerings were great. They have the typical popcorn, sweets, and ice cream. They also serve cocktails apart from the usual drinks. The seats and the women's toilet have seen better days. It would be nice if these could get upgraded but apart from that, it was a great experience.

I love this iconic place tucked away in a quaint corner of city centre. I love the cozy , non commercial vibes of the place which makes me quite nostalgic of the movie experiences of the olden days every time. The selections are good, lots of indie movies if you like them.

Have enjoyed it in the past, but the smell of dampness was off-putting.The small mens toilets squeeze 3 urinals where only 2 fit. The 2 in the corner are so tightly squeezed in that one person can neither get in or get out unless the other person moves. I am not sure whether it is possible to use both at the same time without rubbing buttocks with a stranger.Staff are friendly though and it is a lovely building. Nice small bar with nibbles and cakes. Would love this place to succeed, but some money does need to be spent on it.

We did the behind the scenes tour today. What an amazing place! One of the best bits of Birmingham history that we should all know about and definitely fight to preserve. It was so good to hear the origin story of the Electric and to think about all it's gone through since 1909... and it was particularly brilliant to see original features and equipment and poke around in the basement... If you love cinema and love Birmingham then the Electric tour is a must

A lovely cinema, its amazing to be able to visit the oldest working cinema in the UK and I'd say its worth the visit just for that. The seats are very comfortable and the screen is pretty decent

Love the Electric and was really excited about the new sofas coming in but, having visited and sat in these, I am really disappointed and feel like it's such a mistake... really uncomfortable and like something out of a care home. Bring back the old sofas or something more comfortable as, sorry to say, the extra that it costs is no longer worth it and the standard seats are actually preferable.
