Bawn Textiles is fast becoming my absolute favourite fabric shop. Bevan has a skilled eye for choosing excellent quality products that are ethically sourced. I would highly recommend and hope to continue to support this business by ordering again soon!

After 3 years of being open and receiving the newsletters, I finally visited Bawn, the most ethical fabric shop to my knowledge. The location (Southside) is a bit far from the city Center for tourists, but the creation of the fair fashion collective (and the map to guide you through the independent/trendy retailers) makes it worth the visit. Bevan is so lovely to talk to and the fabric she offers are pure joy to see and touch (without the guilty consciente for the planet). Prices are per 1/2m and, despite being a bit pricier than your regular fabric (for obvious reasons) the quality and sustainability of it is a great investment in your future me-made. Special mention to the sample garments to see how each fabric falls once created, and to illustrate the patterns being sold. The haberdashery is also fully stocked on amazing brands like Merchant and Mills, Kylie and the machine labels, Jenerate, and many more. A delight for all your eco sewing projects!

I highly recommend this ethical textile atelier.It's my absolute go to for earth friendly fabrics, notions and sewing tools that have been consciously selected to ensure they are the least impactful and kindest on our planet.A huge curated selection of beautiful, ethical and high quality fabrics for every sewers desire, also stocking some quirky artisan sewing tools to add to your collection.Bevan is super nice and very helpful with all my sewing queries. She is also very informative on the fashion industry and it's impact on climate change, giving us better solutions to help change this industry for good.I use her organic cotton thread and eco elastic in everything I make, it is of premium quality and leave me feeling guilt free of my impact knowing they will eventually biodegrade back into nature leaving no trace.

Got a lovely dungaree pattern as a gift for my sister. She is delighted. Lovely shop owner, didn't make me feel silly for not knowing how to sew :)

A fantastic shop! Found by accident while visiting Glasgow and it’s a real treasure trove. Fabulous, quality fabrics and lots of supplies for quilting, bag making and apparel. The books are amazing. Great, friendly and knowledgeable service too. A shame I found it in my way to the train home but I’ll be ordering online and going back next time I’m in Glasgow.

I visited Bawn in Glasgow last month after having repeatedly bought fabrics online during covid. It was a beautiful shop with a great and calming layout for browsing and Bevan was a great help in finding matching finishing notions for my project. Similarly, I’ve had a great experience with the webshop and highly recommend both - especially the shop for good chats and great knowledge of sewing but also current patterns and requirements!

Fortunately for me, I've both been able to visit this beautiful shop in person and have also ordered from them online. The lovely owner is very friendly and helpful. There is a variety of high quality products as well as a good selection of fabrics made from natural fibres. I highly recommend Bawn textiles as a source of materials for sewing.

It is amazing to see more places cropping up where we can purchase more ethically; especially fabrics for home sewers and businesses wanting to make a change to the current fashion industry issues. I also feel I have found a real gem to know that there is amazing customer service and a friendly, genuine person behind the brand.
