Green Lane Nature Reserve

This thin strip of land is a hidden treasure on the outskirts of Hucclecote.Well managed throughout the year it can appear plain or even barren in the Winter months and into early Spring.However, frequent early morning or evening visits throughout the year bring rewards. I've spotted birds of prey in the trees, a variety of smaller birds flitting about, a few bats at twilight and twice met a fox sauntering along.In Summer the flora in the central 'island', running the length the reserve, fills with a variety of grasses and flowers.The only downside is the noise and occasional stink of vehicle fumes from the M5.

Just adding my name and a 5 stars to all the green spaces in and around this city.... as it was a great choice by the Council to deliver on these things..They mean so much to so many people. Especially us dog walkers and Nature lovers.
