I had queries about solar power & found staff really wanted to be helpful. What they couldn't answer they signposted me to where I could get answers. Bit of a delay to response but this is a charity & doubtless chronically under-funded like so many others nowadays.

Could have made a bit more of an effort, and not ‘sat on the Fence’. I requested information ref A++ rated windows and especially doors, and the standard cop out reply was ‘we can’t recommend companies’ and just copy and pasted a link to FENSA and CERTASS. Info: Most DG companies in uk don’t like fitting Triple Glazing A++ as the majority use a Triple Glazed Sealed Units Shoe Horned into a Double Glazing Frame and they then moan about getting maintenance call outs for stressed hinges and fittings after a year or so which would be avoided if they pushed the Boat out and used a Dedicated Triple Glazed Extrusion with relevant stronger Fixtures and Fittings that can take the extra weight of Triple Glazing. So I thought who should knows lots about triple glazing & insulation that works? - That’s why I got in touch with C.S.E. I thought it’s kind of what they do.e mailing that this or that company Fits Proper Triple Glazing is not the same as ‘recommending them’.Didn’t even Link or point me to the page on their own website “Energy efficient glazing & high performance external doors” which doesn’t really tell you anything anyway - such as apart from the spacer bars - within the extrusion the more chambers you have the stronger and more energy efficient the frame is. Half the reason people end up sub standard windows and doors in the uk is the lack of help and advice required - not well know generalisations that you can read on Wiki. At least I’ve learnt how to save some electricity today - don’t contact this organisation for specific energy advice my search continues thanks very much cse.Answer to CSE reply(I wouldn't call copy & pasting a link to Certas & Fensa Bespoke advice)
