Unique Carpet & Floor

Very poor customer service. They left a complete mess in my house (which they tried to charge me to collect), I had already removed the old carpets! They were told they would need to move some furniture and I found it all piled in a heap an left in my en-suite. I paid a premium to support a small independent retailer. The high street names would certainly given me much better service a probably would have been cheaper. Would never use again.

This review is long overdue and I will stick to the basic facts.I used this company after Jim ( the owner) was recommended by a reputable company.He was a great sales person and I was persuaded to purchase Moduleo flooring.The initial fit etc was great but within a year a patch of my floor appeared to be discolouring.Contacted Jim and explained.....he asked no questions and made no suggestions to what could have caused it. Just said his fitter would come round and look.The fitter did not come and I telephoned/emailed again.In a response email from Jim, he suggested that the best option would be to replace the discoloured tiles with the spares I had.The fitter came, replaced one tile and it became apparent that the whole floor had discoloured with this particular area being more noticable.However, the replaced tile looked like a different floor and the floor looked worse than it ever did before.I asked the fitter to put back the old tile. He explained that he could not do this because the glue had been heated to lift the tile and it was damaged. I was devastated!Following this incident, Jim conveniently decided now was the time to contact the manufacturers.Long story short - the rep visited, told me it was my cleaning products ( e.g flash ) that had caused it and explained that there were specific maintenance products that should be used with this flooring..... and that this would invalidate my 10 year guarentee.Jim used the tile his fitter lifted to send as a sample to Moduleo for testing and the results confirmed what the rep had told me.Jim rejected my complaints regarding lack of information and relevant care instruction and took no responsibility for the way in which my floor was left after the attempt to fix it.Only after numerous emails and getting Moduleo's rep involved did he offer to replace my expensive 1 year old floor at a 50% cost to me and he specified that this was a goodwill gesture only and that he was not accepting any liability. I declined this!I have spent a year covering up his company's botched fix up job with a rug and have only just managed to save up and replace my flooring.In summary if you are going to use this company, do not expect to be given all the necessary and relevant information with your purchase. Jim expects you to do your own research!

Great service in store and by the carpet fitter. Huge range of stock. We’ll be back!
