Diamond Awl Leather Workshop

I attended a one day course, to test the waters with my interest in leather work. The day was constructed beautifully, introduction to Jason and Louise, their experience and knowledge, leather, background to the materials and tools. I took a few missteps when making/constructing to note book, they were both so supportive and reassuring. I found my grove and everything came together nicely. I walked away at the end of the day with a little skip in my step and a want to explore this world further. Great value for money and genuinely can not recommend enough. 5* experience

My husband and I spent a fabulous weekend with Jason on the 2 day bag workshop (a birthday present for me).All my expectations were exceeded!We had an amazing time and came away with 2 messenger bags that we're incredibly proud to have made! Jason is such a talented, patient, knowledgeable teacher who shares his experiences with such passion. We couldn't have wished for a better teacher. I'm still buzzing from an amazing 2 day course with Diamond Awl. Jason is a very knowledgeable, patient and passionate teacher. I gathered skills and knowledge to give me enough confidence to pursue my ambition of becoming a leather accessories designer. Jason's wife Louise was on hand to also provide invaluable support. They're an hospitable and talented team and I'm already planning my next workshop.

I recently did the 4 day course to make an overnight bag and really enjoyed it. Jason and Louise are great teachers, really knowledgeable and encouraging. Great at building your confidence in what you are doing. Learnt a lot in the 4 days, and achieved a lot. Really great to walk out with a fantastic bag at the end of it. Well worth the money. It's definitely given the bug to go on an make lots of leather things, got so many ideas, I don't know where to start. I would definitely love to do some more advanced courses as well, and will be keeping my eye out and keeping in touch. Thank you so much to both of you.

I have wanted to have a go at leatherwork for years and did the 2 day bag making course this weekend. It was fantastic. Jason is a lovely guy and a brilliant teacher, he and Louise are really friendly and helpful.I'm thrilled with my bag and will definitely make more be back to do another course.

This course was truly outstanding. Jason is a superb craftsman and a superb teacher - those two qualities don't always go together, but Jason combines both skills so well. He was unfailingly patient, encouraging and kind, and he and his wife, Louise, make a really good team. Every moment of the weekend was enjoyable, and it was great fun to be part of our group. With Jason's help I was able to make a messanger bag with a quality beyond my wildest dreams, and my friends and family are genuinely gobsmacked at the result! I will definitely be continuing to develop my leatherwork skills. The only problem is that all my family want a bag now...

An absolutely brilliant four day course. Informative, expert guidance & a very considerate teacher. Day one I had doubts that I could produce the item we were to make. Four days later, Jason’s excellent tuition gave me the gift of joy at seeing what I am capable of with such considered teaching. I had a wonderful experience on the 4 day course making a beautiful weekend bag. Jason and Louise were both passionate, knowledgable and lovely to work with. The studio was such an inspiring, relaxed environment and I have come away buzzing with creative ideas and the skills required to make them happen. A truly life-affirming week and testament to the benefits of the creative process for ones mental health.

I read the reviews and decided to sign up. Best thing I’ve done in years! I completed the 2 day course just over a week ago; it was hard work but so very rewarding. Jason is incredibly knowledgeable and Louise has the patience of a saint and they are both excellent teachers. My sister loves the handbag I made for her and now wants more!I’m dropping big hints about gift vouchers to Him Indoors so that I can sign up for the 3 day course and make her a matching backpack.

I attended the two day leather workshop and was very impressed by the skills, knowledge and evident enthusiasm that Jason has for this craft.The studio was great, with plenty of space, lots of interesting objects on display and a great atmosphere.Jason was a patient and personable teacher, who took the time to explain each step and only stepped in when he had to.The end result was a bag I am really proud of, and a new found love of this craft that I definitely be continuing.
