Beautiful building in its own right ,lots of stairs but lifts also available. Great lockers to use on ground floor for refundable £1 . Great exhibits which can be seen really close up . The Egyptian displays are stunning . Really busy half term day .but loved it

Had a great afternoon here. There is so much here for all ages from Egyptian mummies to live frogs and lizards. The dinosaurs are amazing. The museum shop has some lovely gifts. We were a little disappointed to find that the cafe only seemed to have a vegetarian menu.

It's a pretty museum from the outside and some part inside too.The Vivarium part was so interesting and original I really love it. However it was very noisy and loud, children were screaming and doing littles punches on the glasses I was a bit chock and no one of the staff is there to bring order and peace to these living beings. The rest of museum is cute also, I was a bit disappoint that the last floor was closed. It's an interesting museum to do but very loud due to children's scream.where are the parents and the staff to reframe them?

Finally it’s back open. Such a great museum with lots to see from animals to dinosaurs arts and mummies and everything If you want to be amazed for the day then go!I would highly recommend buying tickets for the mummy exhibition as it’s really unique and also saves queuing for the main museum. The queues just to get in can be really long so buy your tickets in advance and you won’t be disappointed.Great day out.

The museum is smaller than I expected, but it's definitely worth a visit. The ground floor houses a stunning collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including numerous mummies. Upstairs, you'll find the East Asia Museum, with a focus on China. On your way to the taxidermy collection, don't miss the fossils, some of which are millions of years old, and the dinosaur skeletons on display downstairs. And don't forget to check out the Vivarium on the second floor, where you can see live animals

It's a really interesting place, with the feel of being in a proper Natural History Museum...We really enjoyed looking at all sorts of things, I personally loved the fact that everything is organised by time, starting with ancient history to modern day. My kids loved looking at the animals, especially the live animals in the Terrarium!

We visited here during the school holidays and have been looking forward to it. The museum itself is really easy to find. Me and my children walked through Manchester from Victoria train station. It was a nice walk so quiet because it was early in the morning. When we got there we were welcomed really nicely and the kids had so much to see they loved every second of it. They have added a lot of additions to the museum. Since we last visited couple of years ago.The Egyptian mummies were the best part the kids have said. It's definitely a lovely place to visit. After being there for a couple of hours we decided to go to the museum cafe to get a light lunch. The menu was a very posh menu lol. But we are open to trying new flavours and opted for a dill pickle hummus with flat bread, and the egg sandwich baguette which was really delicious and drinks. It was an expensive light" lunch but we thought we might experience the whole day out fully."

Excellent museum. The V1 bus stops outside and picks up on it's route. The museum staff was very helpful. The artifacts and displays was outstanding. The only niggle is that it's quite dark in places and the info on the displays was small and we couldn't read it.Also in some rooms it can get quite warm and there's only floor fans for coolness.Toilets are clean and tidy. The cafe was reasonably priced with delicious treats.

An amazing museum with interesting exhibitions from full dinosaurs to a stuffed tigon, asteroids to live chameleons! The Egyptian mummies exhibition was very atmospheric, and the staff friendly and low key. An excellent space that was enjoyed by our whole party of 9, and we'll definitely be back.

It is free to visit but I would recommend booking a ticket in advance to ensure no or shorter wait. It is free to book a ticket and can be done online. Fantastic exhibitions with lots of signage to tell you everything about each artifact. Great coffee in the cafe! Dinosaur exhibition felt a bit bland compared to the other exhibitions. It was very busy and warm when I went unfortunately. Gift shop didn't really have much of a selection. Only a few affordable knick knacks and then expensive handmade items, which are great if that's what you're looking for but not so great if you want a little trinket to remind you of the trip.
