Swallows Wood
One of our favourite dog walks, a real hidden gem. It's a real haven for wildlife and a beautifully shady walk on a hot day. Easy access from here on to the Trans Pennine and Pennine Bridleway

One of my favourite walks as there's lots of variety of nature, woodland, sections of water for the dog to splash about in and more open areas too. The handful of times I've been we've only passed a couple of other people which is a bonus as I thought it would have been very busy. Small waterfall here which is a nice surprise!

Nice woodland walk, although you have to cross a river for part of it. Dog friendly but not necessarily good for a stroller unless you want to civi evac

This is a really nice place. Could do with a proper car park. You can park in the fisheries however, vague information from main road. The fisheries has a nice looking cafe overlooking the reservoir. Probably around a two mile circular walk taking in the green pastures and mixed woodland. Plenty of benches to have a picnic on and clear running streams for dogs to play. Wellies in winter and walking boots in summer. No poo fairy here, take it home!

Probably my favourite place in the UK. From Arnfield fly fishery cafe, to the little bridge over Ogden Clough, and back to Meadowbank. This area is full of beauty, and history.

A nice easily accessible walk with riverside spots kids can play by, sheep filled fields, reservoir-side café, forested pathways, and access to various other valleys and routes into the hills and moorland.

Zero directions to get there & google maps doesn’t help.
