We can’t recommend this company enough. After google searching local companies to do a boiler service, we were called by a company who quoted us £144!! Ming charged us a fraction of this cost, and came within a week and a half. It was also extremely helpful that he took calls in the evenings when we were searching for a company, it meant we could immediately talk to him and get the appointment booked in. Ming himself is a lovely guy. Five stars!

Ming is a highly skilled Engineer with many years of experience - I cannot recommend him highly enough. I had been a little sceptical of so many excellent reviews for Herts Boilers on Google and on TrustPilot but I now know they are justified. Ming was able to sort out the problem with my old floor standing boiler within 20 minutes, even though two other gas companies and two independent engineers had failed to do so. He is very responsive, personable and highly knowledgeable - he works swiftly and tidily, diagnosing and fixing. His fees are clearly set out on the comprehensive website, which also has a really detailed and useful FAQ section, and his charges are very reasonable (especially compared to bigger well-known companies). Ming followed up his visit with a text the next morning to check that the boiler had continued to heat the radiators and the hot water, which it had, and he was happy to answer a couple of questions that I had forgotten to ask when he was on site. I would not hesitate to use Herts Boilers again and I would encourage anyone who’s having problems with their boiler to contact them in the first instance; Ming is an expert in deciding whether it’s possible to repair rather than to replace and I am so glad we found this professional local company!

Incredible service. Highly Recommended.I had an issue with my boiler and researched companies online to find a someone reputable and trustworthy. I knew I was in good hands when I saw the quantity of 5-Star reviews and positive feedback. I checked out the company website, and the promise that there was no call out fee and no charge if the boiler couldn't be fixed, reassured me that I was in good hands.I called the mobile number and was answered promptly. I spoke to Ming and explained the issue that I had with my boiler. He asked for a photo of the boiler, which I provided via WhatsApp. Within minutes I received a response, which included a link to a post on the website explaining what the problem could be. I followed the advice given, and soon had a fully functioning boiler and hot water. No need for a visit, or for me to take time off work to be there, when an engineer called.I thanked Ming for his help and offered to pay, but he wouldn't take any money from me. That kind of service and customer care is very rare to find. I have saved his number in case I ever need him again. I have already recommended Herts Boilers to friends, family and colleagues, and will continue to tell people how impressed I am.

Ming was absolutely excellent. I woke up on a cold Sunday morning with no hot water or central heating and, despite having emergency breakdown cover with British Gas, they couldn't fit me in for another five days. I called Ming and he picked up within a few rings and was out a few hours later. He fixed the problem and provided advice on what to do should something similar happen in the future. Bearing in mind this was a Sunday in the middle of December, he was also very reasonably priced and quoted all prices upfront. Highly recommended - go for a local trader over one of the big names!

Ming is not like other tradesmen - he helped me diagnose and fix my boiler without even needing to come out. He also offered great flexibility when it looked like a visit was required. He was very responsive throughout. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ming to anyone. A true pro!

Following strange noises from our boiler we called Ming who arrived quickly and diagnosed and rectified the situation. He explained everything clearly - we learnt more about our boiler than we had ever known which we greatly appreciated. We recommend him highly and without reservation.

Had been having issues with my system boiler, and hot water since August and had several visits from multiple engineers from another local repair company.At no point in that 12 week period were any of the multiple engineers they sent able to repair my problem. The last visit with them they actually made things worse and I lost Central Heating right as the weather turned. They showed no urgency in fixing that issue and advised I need two new parts and quoted me for an expensive repair job they assured me was needed to get any service from my boiler and said it’s take 2 weeks to book me in! I lost confidence in the other company and I found HertsBoilers online.In one visit Ming diagnosed the issue, found a wiring fault and resolved it, and resolved an unrelated leak on my boiler (that was introduced after a service by the other company). I’ve had uninterrupted hot water and central heating since (I’ve given it a week to check too!).Ming was fast, professional, reassuring, and explained the issues in terms I could understand. Since his visit I’ve had perfectly working system, and he even advised that that expensive work I’d had recommended wasn’t needed - and he always has the part on hand so if it did fail, he could solve it quickly, saving me a further £500+ expense (for work that wasn’t needed).If you’re in the St Albans area and looking for the most competent engineer there is, Herts Boilers is the way to go! Had an issue with the hot water. Booked a visit from Ming of Herts Boilers, his messaging was very good, and he arrived at the agreed time. He diagnosed the problem quickly, which he then solved by freeing and lubricating a stuck valve, at a price I was very happy with. Thank you!

Not sure I got the same experience as all these positive reviews. No fix no fee was not true at all. Called out to broken down boiler, Ming diagnosed as blocked condensate pipe via WhatsApp before he arrived.On the day Ming arrived one hour late, understandable in the industry I'm sure, but no updated time given until I chased.Arrived and confirmed issue, however claimed that fault could not be fixed as appliances were in the way. If Ming had arrived on time I would have been available and between myself and my partner would have happily moved the appliances out of the way. However as it was I ended up stuck in a call so could not assist.Ming charged £70 for call out and diagnosis despite no fix, according to his FAQ he reserves the right to charge diagnosis fee if three conditions are met, 1. Significant work involved (he had diagnosed before he arrived so don't believe this was met), 2. Diagnosis is correct (unknown at this stage), 3. Customer decides not to go further with Ming (we didn't really have a choice).Ultimately I would have expected an experienced boiler specialist to have asked where the pipe went before he arrived so he could advise us to move the appliances before he arrived but nevermind.£70 paid, but will not be using Ming again as nothing is fixed. 2 stars on the basis I assume the diagnosis is correct.
